Having purchased the plastic handle version a number of years ago which proved very durable succumbing eventually to plastic degradation was pleased to purchase this identical but metal version, seems to be very good quality; the only down side being the handles are now somewhat shorter and less comfortable to use.

Brilliant to use in the garden to clean up after the dogs, easy to clean too

I’m not providing photographs as no one needs to see that! I was hoping that this would replace our existing repurposed stable muck scoop and rake method after 10 years of service. Though the bucket does well on hard surfaces like the block paving, patio and gravel it has been overwhelmed by two labradors, two cats and their deposits in the grass and flowerbeds. The grass comb design acts like a hand/ fingers would and is effective but the arm length handle has already started to flex and there is now no guarantee that I will be able to accurately place the lip below any turds I am attempting to flick into the bucket. This has already led to a few unhappy incidents. The bend on the rake and comb setup has resulted in similar mishaps. If it were made of sturdier components it would be very good as the design has made it easier on the knees and back than hand bagging. But it’s flexing after less than 50 pickups and will need the handle replacing somehow to remove that. If you have hard surfaces or very tightly mown grass it is good but grass longer than two inches long causes problems.

So we have 2 large dogs (Rotty and a Lab) and they love to leave me little presents dotted around the garden each day.We have mostly picked up the dog poo with a disposable rubber glove and a carrier bag but this involves bending down low and causing back pain.I was looking on Amazon to see what other alternatives were out there and after much consideration I decided to go with this pooper scooper.I have to say it’s a joy to use, compared to bending down and feeling the previous days digested meals from your loving pets.I also bought a black plastic dustbin from Amazon too, the type with the lid that clips down on the top. I stick the large bag which the dog biscuits come in, into the bin and that is what goes away to the landfill sites.The item works really well and makes dog poo duties much easier and quicker to carry out and I’m so glad I made this purchase. The pan and the brush handles both extend to suit your height requirements and it’s so easy to use.The only thing I would say, and this is not a negative but more wishful thinking on my side. I wish it had a larger pickup pan in order to fit 2 or 3 piles of poo in at the same time to prevent walking back to the bin to offload. If you have 1 dog or smaller dogs, then this is perfect and will bring much joy to your life too. If you have 2 or more larger dogs, you may want to consider one with a slightly larger pan to be 100% content with life.I highly recommend this product but get the bin too to compliment task in hand.Oh one other thing I forgot to mention...Some other pooper scoopers drag the poo along the grass and sometimes leavesa snail trail of poo. This product seems to leave little or no trace and picks up nicely from gravel and artificial grass too.Go on, you know you want one

Having two large dogs is an expensive business. I have shared my life with Great Danes for the past eight years and I have frquently thought that in terms of value for money this must be the best dog related item I have ever bought. It's practical and sturdy and makes life so much easier. I'm 5.6" and this is more than long enough for me.I'm writing this review because I have just bought a new one. My original one has lasted 8 years despite being outside in all weathers. Highly recommended!
