Plus side - it fits in my mums bag and is light, strong, very thick material. Good build quality too.Down side - The handle is pretty much the bit you can see in the cover photo, small and like a door knob. The mechanism for opening the umbrella requires a bit of strength.I should explain.This umbrella is for my mum who (sorry mum) is 70+ and has, like many, slight difficulty in opening jars, undoing and doing up things that require strong wrist/hands. The umbrella is great, don't get me wrong, but the two mentionable issues are the handle is awkward, you end up holding the shaft of the umbrella. To open it requires a bit of a push, but there is a good reason, this seems to be a lined/shaded umbrella like a parasol. So yes, it is a normal waterproof umbrella, very very good one actually, and it has like a sunscreen/shade built in that makes this seem a little bit more resistant when opening for that last part when the catch on the shaft clicks and engages. It is like you need that final push to make it click into place.I do recommend this, it is a great umbrella, not suitable if you have struggled with a conventional manual umbrella.

Once you have mange to open the umbrella seems OK. It ends there. Item is flimsy, practically impossible to close it after use. As for getting it into the case - forget it. Useless

I held off writing a review until I had need of using this umbrella, this week it has seen plenty of use! A really excellent, compact umbrella. Nice and small when not in use whist sufficiently big to keep you dry when opened up. Totally waterproof and quick drying, once out of the rain. I would definitely recommend!

Small and seem built in quality but It doesn’t gather easily.

I bought this umbrella for my upcoming holiday to sunny Europe. Bought white to help reflect the suns rays. It is a lovely well made umbrella white on outside and black inside. UPF 50 which is superb.Neat. small size when closed which will easily fit into a pocket or small bag, open seems to be sturdy and well made. I notice it is also okay to use should it rain so a win win.

Endlich habe ich immer einen Schirm dabei, weil der in jede Tasche passt. Der Schirm ist sehr stabil und wenn man ihn in aller Ruhe und ohne Gewalt nach dem Trocknen wieder zusammenfaltet, einfach genial.
