If you do not have a very sharp pointed tip then look at the attached picture for the fix!
The sharp pointed pickup tool is OK and works as intended as long as you do not have the issue with the tip which is an easy fix! Like some other people that removed the blue plastic cap and see a metal tube on the end of the pointer tip there is an easy fix. You need to grab the metal tube with a pair of pliers and pull it off the end of the sharp pointed tip. The metal tube was supposed to be glued to the inside of the plastic blue cap and the manufacture did not adhere it correctly to stay when the cap is pulled off leaving it on the sharp tip of the point. After I removed the metal tube, I smeared a little clear gorilla glue on the outside of the metal tube and pushed it back into the blue plastic cap. After it cures you can use it as a protective cap for the sharp pointed tip and it should be able to be used as expected.

SWEET!!!!!
My leaf stabber arrived today, and itโs everything I hoped it would be! I wanted something with a sharp tip to spear leaves with, and it works. It picked up medium to large oak leaves that have been on the ground 1-3 days. It came with a blue cover for the sharp tip, and has a nice opening on the handle end. I plan to get an S hook to hang it on the end of my metal shelving rack in the garage. I also ordered the replacement tip for this, so I will have one on hand if I ever need it. The pole is super lightweight but feels like a good quality. Definitely worth the money for the tool and the spare tip. This will save my back for sure.

A great help with the leaves in my yard
I got this trash picker not for trash but to help me with my yard. I dread the Fall season because I have a lot of trees in my yard and now that my husband is no longer able to do them, it falls to me to take care of it. The trickiest part is getting the leaves that blow up into the garden beds. The leaf blower doesn't always blow them out and they get stuck under the plants. It's okay to leave some of them there to protect the plants during winter but not as many as fall there. I was having to manually pick them up because the rake would damage the plants. This tool helped a lot. Now, I pick them up in bunches with the trash picker and put them in my garden car where I can roll them into the backyard and leave them in the woods - or I can add them to my new compost pile at the edge of the woods. It really helped the job go quicker this season and I am glad that I purchased this.

Initial impressions are good
This gadget is essentially a metal tube with a 6" steel spike at the end. But there are several advantages over a conventional squeeze-grip picker upper: - Multiple pieces of trash can be speared before you have to bring it up to your trash bag. - Size is essentially variable since you can grab it anywhere along its length. Helpful when reaching into a ditch when you need length, or reducing fatigue if you're shorter than average. - Light, rugged. A lot of the squeeze grip pickers are very fragile. - If you want to take rest, you can stick it vertically in the ground. Believe me, every bend-over counts. The safety tip on the end is simply a butt-join electrical connector crimped at one end. I will probably fashion something a little larger and more visible. If the spike breaks, my plan is to either try and use a bit of coat hanger to replace it or visit a hobby shop and buy a spring steel rod. But from looking at it closely and a day's use, I don't really see how you could break it unless you abuse it somehow. We'll see.

As advertised.
Perfect. I don't have to bend over to pick up leaves that fall from my seagrape.

Itโs works. But the metal tip may come loose.
Bottom line: it works. It works well. Itโs easy to use. Itโs light weight. Itโs safe. Itโs attractive. Itโs the kind of thing that once you llhave used it and see how effective it is, you say โwhy didnโt I buy this years ago?โ No more stooping for anyone in my household. Now my morning routine includes picking up these clousia leaves which fall daily. Love it! An update: I just bought a second one and after a few hours of use the sharp metal tip came off. When I attempted to reinsert, it would not hold. The threads were stripped. I may try some super glue and see if it holds. Otherwise itโs in the trash.

Amazon Choice? Why?
This may be Amazon's choice but it certainly isn't mine..... The metal poker slides up into the tube if you press down too hard on something that's on the ground..... It does not stay locked in place..... You then have to take it apart to realign the poker..... It's a hassle, especially when you're in a hurry trying to get things done as quickly as possible..... This is a small tightening screw that is supposed to keep the poker in place but, it's useless..... It's just poorly engineered..... I'll have to rig it somehow to keep the poker in place.....

Very usefull
Very usefull for me as I am disabled and cannot walk on grass, so I can pick up leaves within reach without injury, I bought a garden vac but this is much lighter and better, plus cheaper.

Handy for paper & leaf trash pick up
This item has a solid painted wood handle with a ribbed plastic grip on top that has a hole so you could hang on a nail in garage to store it.The metal pick is about 5 inches long and strong enough metal gauge diameter that it should not bend under normal and intended usage. The metal pick is attached to a metal cap that is screwed into the handle. I am mainly going to use for leaf pick up in my mulch covered gardens this fall.It will also help pick up occasional paper trash on garbage/recycle pick up days without bending over.Anyone with back or hip issues could use one of these.

It just astounds me how people just throw their disgusting litter and cigarette butts everywhere and think its ok
I live across from a park. It just astounds me how people just throw their disgusting litter and cigarette butts everywhere and think its ok. I can't stand seeing trash strewn around my neighborhood, so purchased this to go around pick it up. This is a good item and does the job without bending down or using your hands to pick the garbage up. It has a nice sharp end which is designed to stab lightweight garbage as opposed to thick cans, etc. I like the fact that when I go around the park with this, if backed into a corner by someone or something, this pole with its pointed end could easily double as a good defence stick.
