Brilliant!
I have built the tiniest pond using a large washing up bowl and have added gravel, rocks and two plants. However, the water was attracting mosquitos as there was no movement at all. I ordered this without much knowledge as to whether it was suitable for my micropond. However...it's brilliant! It was set up in a matter of minutes and I was able to figure everything out with the very simple instructions. It bubbles away happily either quite busily when the solar panel is in full sun, or at a softer pace when it's cloudy. It really is good. There is an extremely long tube to connect the stone to the pump, much longer than I need but I have left it the length it is for now and just sort of disguised it as best I can. However, I may well cut this and keep the leftover tubing indoors as spare in case the one outside gets affected by frost or nibbling creatures! Really happy and highly recommend.

Excellent Performance
I purchased this in May 2023 to improve the water quality in my newly refurbished small pond. It has worked brilliantly ever since, ticking over even on cloudy days. An excellent purchase.

This is a good little aerator
I bought this because I was unexpectedly gifted some fish for my small pond and I thought they'd need a little help in the oxygenated water department. The aerator arrived very quickly, was extremely easy to assemble, started working the moment the solar panel was exposed to sunlight. It bubbles away quite happily even on cloudy days and there are plenty of those in the North West!Update: 26.3.22The aerator has made it through its first winter. My fish are still alive and today, in the glorious March sunshine, the aerator was fizzing away in the pond. I’m delighted. Money very well spent!

When it works it’s great.
This comes with solar panel, aerator stone, pump, and air hose. The solar panel has a two part stand with a ball joint to allow angle changes of the panel. The other end is a point to stick in the soil.Assembly means putting the two part stand together; clipping on the solar panel; connecting the power cable to the solar panel; attaching the air stone to the air hose; and attaching the air hose to the pump.Attaching the air hose to the aerator stone is easy because it has a two step connector, which makes it easy to wiggle the air hose on. The pump does not have a two step connector and it proved very fiddly getting the air hose pushed on far enough. The narrowness of the air hose and that fact that it’s made of slippery plastic means it’s tricky to grip.It started working as soon as it was all connected, and with bright sunshine gave a satisfyingly vigorous stream of bubbles. Thin cirrus reduces the output a little, bright overcast reduces it a lot, while a slightly heavier overcast, though still a bright day, stops it altogether. So yes it works when ever so slightly shady, but the stream of bubbles is so weak it might as well not bother. All of that was okay with me and I was really pleased with my new toy for three days, when I noticed it hadn’t come on even though it was blue sky and bright sunshine. I picked the pump up and it started vigorously pumping. Since then it not only always fails to come on without a ‘kick’, but also randomly stops – even in full sun. Sometimes a nudge will get it going again, sometimes, it won’t start again until the next morning. At least so far it does always eventually start again.Judging from the number of other reviewers who found they needed to knock it to get it going, this is not a random fault. In summary, this is great when it works, and if it worked all the time I’d have no hesitation getting another. Trouble is after trolling through page after page of solar pond aerator reviews this still seems to be one of the best. They all only seem to work when the sun is shining out of a blue sky, and they all seem to fail fairly quickly. Still I got three days of trouble free aeration for my twenty quid.P.S. After having this in the pond right up until the end of November, I've decided it would be unfair to leave this as a one star review. Yes, it invariably needs a kick to get started, but it does occasionally kick off on its own. It's been going all summer and is still going and producing bubbles, even if not as vigorously, on quite gloomy days - not heavily overcast but total cloud cover with a little brightness still from the sun. I only removed it from the pond because I was worried about it getting frozen and I doubt it would survive that. So it's been working almost seven months and was working when I put it away for the winter. So if you don't mind giving it a wiggle to get it going and are able to keep an eye on it, then it's probably one of the better ones out there.P.P.S.I've decided to push the star rating up another notch.I took this out of the pond in November at the end of it's first season in the pond - to make sure it wasn't frozen in. But It was left in my unheated greenhouse all winter. I put it back in the pond towards the end of March and it has worked faultlessly every day since then (it's now mid June). I no longer have to kick it to get the motor started. It bubbles as long as there's some light, even under quite heavy overcast it manages to generate a few bubbles. If it had behaved like this from the word go I'd have had no hesitation in giving 5 stars. But it seems like you need to run it in for a year to get it going.P.P.P.S.I forgot to bring this in over the winter, and back in February I noticed it bubbling on quite a gloomy day. It seems to be working now at lower light levels than it did initially - not vigorously, but bubbles, nevertheless. Makes me think that it's something that just needs to loosen up with use. It's bubbling away every day now, I no longer need to kick it to get it going. It's reached the point where I'd now be happy to buy another

Fantastic for barrel pond
I got this as a last ditch effort to save my barrel pound which, despite a fountain, kept going black and smelly. It is brilliant - pond now working well, pump sits at bottom and works well in all daylight hours - better in bright sun, of course. Easy to install, size fits a small pond nicely, and so far (after 6 weeks) can't praise it enough.

When it works very good - but inconsistent
I am not sure what to make of this pump - brilliant for first 2 weeks, worked in even dull light - but suddenly it has developed an intermittent fault and stops working even in sun. If I pick up pump and give it a gentle rocking movement it starts working again, sometimes for a few minutes, or few hours or even days and then stops again. I hope this is a temporary issue as it has worked OK for last 2 days...we'll see. When it is "on" it is great, no more green water and a lovely stream of gentle bubbles. If it keeps stopping I'll have to return it as maybe faulty.

Absolut perfekte Teichpumpe....
