Vent-Axia VASF100B, white

Great product. Looks good and is very quiet. Just what I wanted.

I first bought one of these because the ground floor shower room extractor fan was on its last legs and making a right racket. It was easy to fit and just slotted in where I had the previous one. I have lived here 20 years so I've replaced that fan twice before. However, I was quite amazed at how quiet it was, even on the high-extract setting. Lots of fans seem to promise this but this fan actually does it. I didn't review too quickly because I was worried it might not actually be extracting the humid air as stated but it clearly does because I've had no issues in the shower room. Because this one was so good, I decided to replace the fan in the upstairs bathroom too, even though it was working okay, because it this new one was so quiet. That upstairs bathroom only needs it to be on 'low-extract' mode and it is almost impossible to hear the fan! But it still does a good job. One of these purchases was for the version which is not on a timer and the other for being on a timer. I can't tell looking at the picture just now which one is which (the look identical on the outside) so I'm leaving the same review for both.These fans cost a bit more than what you get in Wickes etc. but they are well worth it if you can pay that little bit more.

With any reviews there are negative ones that might put you off however I have not had any problems at all with mine. It’s solidly made and good quality, no cheap plastic! It also clears the steam relatively quickly, more so than the previous Manrose model I had. Most importantly though it is practically silent, I had to check the blades were actually spinning as it’s that quiet! I was concerned as the wall it is installed in was plasterboard and hollow, with reverberation being a possible problem however not at all. Absolutely great and will be using vent-axia in the future.

Easy to fit, though you need to provide your own plugs and screws. Very quiet indeed on the slower setting but I felt the extraction rate was probably insufficient so switched it to the higher rate which is still pretty quiet and shifts steam quickly. Top marks for delivery too. Arrived in under 24 hours.

not easy to fit as wont tolerate any type of flexible hose onto the top, prevents return flaps from opening. only solution remove the return flaps. Worked fine for a month now makes horrid buzzing (intermittent)

This fan really is super quiet when on the low speed setting. We have a woodburner in the living room, and I bought this to circulate the warm air that becomes trapped at the ceiling into the hall, and it works a treat. On the low speed setting it really is barely noticeable and doesn't cause any disturbance. At this speed it probably wouldn't be too effective as a bathroom extractor fan, but for air circulation it's ideal. Even on the high speed setting this fan is much quieter than most others.
