The best cookbook I ever bought
This book is an absolute gold find. All the recipes are un-usual, but easy to cook, very tasty and quick. The only downside is that most are with lamb, so will not appeal to people who don't like lamb but I am sure this can be substituted with other meat like beef or chicken with the same excellent result. Vegetarian dishes are very good as well, I am hooked on sticky aubergine and discovered rose harissa which is now always in my food cabinet.

Delicious recipes
After Persiana made ras el hanout and sumac staples in my spice rack, and Sirocco ensured that I can never have sweet potato without a feta and yoghurt dressing, in just one week Feasts has already given me an addiction to pul biber. What I love about Sabrina Ghayourโs books is that she states first and foremost that if you donโt like an ingredient in a recipe, then leave it out. For too long I was studiously poring over any recipe I cooked to ensure I had every single ingredient, dismissing any that featured anything that I didnโt like. Sabrinaโs 3 books have liberated me from this view so I now use recipes as a general guide rather than a firm template. But back to Feasts โ so far I have made the herby frittata, the sausage and pepper bake, prawn, basil and feta linguine, and the harissa and yoghurt chicken, and each one has been a triumph. No too wordy with plenty of gorgeous colour photos, this weekend will be spent testing more and probably using up my supply of pul biber.

Beautifully presented, new fusions of tastes, simple and impressive recipes - Fantastic!!!
What a brilliant book! I liked the look of this book and the recipe that was on the Amazon preview so I took a punt and I am so pleased I did! I had never heard of Sabrina Ghayour and have none of her previous books so I was very pleased when this book arrived to see that it is not like anything I have already. The Persian fusion theme to much of the food is new and a breathe of fresh air. It has a bit of an Ottolenghi feel to it but instead of needing a whole page of esoteric ingredients, this really is a larder cupboard book. I have made the rocket and grapefruit salad with a Harissa dressing. Genius mix of sweet, sour and spicy. I made the frozen yogurt and raspberry desserts with pistachio nuts. I fed this to 12 people ranging from 12 to 50 in age and everyone was left scraping the cups and asking for more. I made the lentil, rice and apricot salad which is so lemony, you might think it would make you eyes water but no, it just works so well. It mixed flavours that you would not have thought could possibly go together integrating tastes like old friends. The only ingredient I have struggled to source was sumac (Whatโs sumac I hear you ask) but I easily found an alternative (lemon rind and salt) which worked really well. I have already bought this as a present for a friend and it has gone down a storm. There is plenty of vegetarian dishes and salads, innovative desserts and lovely fish (the roasted cod is a interesting twist on what can be a very bland dish). I know I am gushing about this book but I can honestly say that, of my extensive shelves of recipe books, this is amongst the most interesting and well thumbed book at the moment and I canโt wait to try more of the recipes. Really recommended. Beautifully presented, excellent and innovative recipes and new tastes to try. Whatโs not to like?

Another excellent cook book!
I became a big fan of Ghayour when I bought her book "Persiana," and I had to add this one to my collection. Her food is simple and flavorful and there's something about her recipes that captivate me. The book is organized into different kinds of feasts (Summer, Holidays, etc) with proposed menus instead of a typical appetizers-main course-desserts kind of organization and I like it very much. It's been an excellent addition to my library.

Excellent Cookbook
I believe this is the 4th cookbook I own by this author. Her recipes are so easy to follow, and I've never had a recipe not turn out. Everything is delicious. I highly recommend this cookbook. If I were you, I'd also by "Bazaar", "Persiana", and "Persiana Everyday," by the author, Sabrina Ghayour.
