I got this hoping It would be an easier more portable alternative to using strobes on location for photography. But the output was just too dim when I tested them indoors they had to be SO CLOSE to the subjects to make any difference, that it wasn't practical, so I returned them. I could see they would be well suited for video when shooting with very wide aperatures/dark environments AND in situations where these lights can be placed very close to the subject. There were lots of simulated "effects" like police lights, fire flame light, etc that would be fun to use if doing some sort of storytelling or movie project that needed such effects.

I bought this to be a accent light for video shoots. Prepared myself by getting it early so I can learn how to use it. First day I received it I plugged it in the LCD lit up and it looked like it was charging. Upon returning 30mins later to notice that it was still showing red flashing battery sign. I let it charge for hours. Still same thing I decided I couldn’t wait anymore and turned the light on while it was plugged in and IT WAS BRIGHT LOVED IT. Left it alone for a few more hours then tried to unplug it (maybe I read the instructions wrong) and tried to power it on… did not work. So I decided that I’ll use it as a light for home video shoot to plug in. 1 month 2 days after purchase. I used it for the first time and now I lay this light to rest. It is no longer working. It would flicker here and there while filming and then just died. LCD nothing… Light nothing. Now don’t get me wrong it worked wonders while shooting in 4K at 30fps. No flicker or rolling lines it’s a great light, but unfortunately I received a bad one. I put two pictures from today’s shoot up one with it working (blue accent)and one of not working anymore. Today is 7/20/21 I purchased 6/18/21

Pros:-Well priced (original price was $70 but with the discount I got it for $49) can't find anything better in that price range.-Good color reproduction.-Decent built in effects.-Comes with accessories.-Low profile design without chin.-Nice LCD screen.-Decent built quality for the price, most of the body is made of metal.-battery seems to last. (Have only used it once)Cons-Not very bright.-The white (warm and cold) have a very low CRI I can't get it to match with any light, doesn't like very natural. Tried using it as a fill light but it's no good.-Wish it was a bit longer .-The colors are presets, you can't dile the exact color you want. That's the biggest negative about the light.-The magnets are a very nice feature but they could be a bit stronger.-You can see the individual LEDs but most cameras won't have that problem.-the charging port is in an awkward position (right in the middle of the fixture) if you have to charge it while using it might look ugly specially if you want to use the light in the shot.I originally bought one and I might get a couple more. Can't beat them for the price.

I was fortunate to get it with a $20 off coupon, bringing the price down to $49 plus tax.This is a 180 degree LED light stick with 9 primary colors, a full range of CCT and lighting effects like police, ambulance, lightning, etc. The controls are easy to use with just 2 sprung dials that also press inward to select. you can use the dials to increase/decrease brightness or press the dial to advance thru 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% power. The mode dial advances thru the 9 colors and programmed effects, also with full brightness control. CCT mode offers full brightness and color temperature control. I havent verified the accuracy of the display versus the lighting color temperature, but really, what does it matter? as long as the temperature is consistent and repeatable, you should be good to go.charging is done via USB-C, and charges quickly. the 4000mAh battery lasts through a whole shoot and then some at full power. the back side has rubberized feet and magnets for mounting and both end caps have 1/4"-20 threads to add a handle and/or mount to a tripod or light stand. also included is a remote control for quick access to the settings. mine also came with a mini ball head and grip, negating my need to buy those eventually.bottom line is that this is a functional light that's well diffused, giving off a consistent, directional light through the whole length of the tube. the quality of diffuse light is actually far better than expected, even compared to light sticks twice the price. you're missing out on control via cell phone, but really that's more hassle than it's worth when trying to use an app to control a light stick.if you need 2 or more of these for your video or photography set, you really can't go wrong for the price as you are currently able to get two for the price of just one of the competition. as for being a brandless, white box item... so are the others, so let's be realistic. this is likely the same thing, from the same factory, pumped out with no brand name and that's the bottom line.for the price, i can't recommend it enough.

When it comes to taking picture, I love the different effects that this light helps give. I'm able to do all sorts of angles with this flashlight with different colors or even just a regular light and the quality of my pictures is amazing. No matter the what the light looks like where I'm taking pictures, I'm able to go use this outdoors in the sun, in the shade, in the dark and even take pictures underwater with the light reflecting off of the water. What I love about this light is I don't have to worry about bulky light equipment to lug around. Instead, the wand itself is really light weight and love that it came with a handle that is really easy to attach and detach when I need to. Adjusting the light colors and brightness is really easy to do with just a push of a button. Not to mention, if I have someone holding this, I can just use the remote control to change the light effects easily. This did come with a bag that everything fits inside of so it's easy to store this away. Great quality of light to use with endless possibilities.
