Garmin eTrex Handlebar Mount Bracket, black

I agree with the previous reviewer that the quality of the mount is very good. BUT beware, I got caught out - This clip only fits non-memory card eTrex series. If you have one of the newer x series with the expansion memory module the back plate will not fit the gps, rendering it useless.

I’m delighted with this purchase. I’ve had my Garmin Etrex 12 Channel GPS for 23 years and have used it thousands of times in the hills and mountains but I’d never actually thought to mount it on my mountain bike until now! I really didn’t expect to still be able to get a mounting kit for a 23 year old Etrex and I was really surprised when I saw it on Amazon. I didn’t expect it would fit, but I ordered it anyway and, much to my delight, it fits! All you do is replace the rear battery panel with the new one which has the mounting fitting, and that’s it. The actual bike mount fits nicely on my Specialized Rockhopper handlebars.

This is currently the ONLY product available if you want to attach a Garmin eTrex hand-held GPS to your bike handlebars. Believe me, I've tried everywhere.There is no alternative maker of this 'clip-on' design, and no 'universal' GPS mount that fits the eTrex because of the location of the control buttons on both sides of the unit. This one provides a good secure and firm fit to bike handlebars.BUT BEWARE!It will not fit to anything except the handlebars if you want to read the GPS while moving. (i.e it cannot be fitted to the crossbar or forward-extended handlebar stem) as the GPS will be at 90 degrees to whatever bar or rail it is mounted on, and cannot be turned on the mount.IMPORTANT - if your handlebars are over 25mm diameter (like many new mountain bikes) you will need to ADDITIONALLY purchase the Large Diameter Garmin Rail Mount Adaptor. There's no choice in the matter as the large diameter adaptor DOES NOT INCLUDE the replacement (adapted) battery cover panel for the eTrex. If you need the large diameter adaptor as well, check out my review on it as you may need to know about a few problems with mine.As usual, very prompt and efficient delivery, in a letterbox sized envelope, so no waiting about for a knock on the door.Good value, and currently a very good discount off the RRP.

Like many of you reading this, I threw away/lost the little Garmin mount adapter, however, this adapter is vitually perfect. It fitted my Garmin Etrex Vista C perfectly, so would work for any Garmin unit with that kind of cover. It came with full instructions, which were useful. One minor point; the cover doesn't fit snugly into the mount, so the unit rattles when the bike's in motion, a small strip of black insulating tape in the mouting groove easily fixes that though.

This is an excellent product, very sturdily built and easy to fit. It enables me to use my eTrex gps monitor when out cycling. Not only can the eTrex be used instead of a cycle computer (eg giving speed data and distance travelled) it also informs me exactly where I am (with Ordnance Survey bearings that I can readily check against a map). Note: this product is compatible with both eTrex gps monitors that I own: eTrex Venture and eTrex H; I hope that Garmin will produce a similar adaptor that is compatible with their other products. It appears that many buyers have been unsatisfied because of this issue; there is obviously a demand for this product thus it would appear to be sensible commercially to meet this demand! With more people cycling recreationally the use of gps will grow. Note that for larger diameter handlebars an additional adapter is available but it would appear that you still have to buy this product as it contains a replacement battery cover.

Works fine and is rigid once you stick some gaffer tape on it to reduce the clearance between the handlebar and the garmin mount. Otherwise far too loose and rattles. You would have thought they could have fixed this by now as it's a common problem. Despite the clearance issue I would buy again as with the fix it works fine, holds the Garmin unit well and allows you to unclip it easily. As a precaution I recommend wrapping the lanyard that comes with most Garmins around the handle bars.

I bought the Garmin handlebar mount for an eTrex Vista HCx I have owned for a year and a half. When I received the mount, it simply did not fit, and after a while it became evident that I should have a clip which was apparently supplied with the HCx series of eTrex with the memory expansion card. Now, I always store the cardboard box of expensive items like this, with all the spares, plastic bags, and sheets of paper - and I simply did not have such a clip. When I phoned Garmin, they did send me one, but buy the time it arrived I had returned the mount.I expect to buy another mount now I have the correct clip, but the history is annoying. Even more annoying is the realisation that I will be paying for a kit with two items, one of which I cannot use.There are other Garmin mounts, one is a complicated metal item which I understand allows the Garmin to rattle and lose battery contact, another is the RAM which has a neat cradle but a very bulky clamp.Hard to figure which way to go!

Couldn't believe I was still able to purchase this device.

My bike fell over and broke the original GPS holder for my handlebars. This one was an exact match and was easy to install. Works great. Will take GPS off the holder from now on incase the bike falls again.

Ho acquistato questo dorso per le mie uscì con il mio Garmin in MTB, e devo dire che sono soddisfattissimo del mio acquisto: eccellente rapporto qualità prezzo, e prestazioni al top, il supporto da manubrio è a clips, stabilissimo e preciso oltre che sicuro per comoda linguetta di sicurezza. Assolutamente consigliato.

He utilizado el antiguo eTrex Legend para el que es este soporte y ahora dispongo del actual eTrex 30 cuyo anclaje es distinto. Sin duda el modelo actual es mejor, pero en el tema del soporte, este (el antiguo), algo más aparatoso, me parece más fiable.Colocando unas pequeñas juntas de goma en unas ranuras que lleva,el GPS no se mueve nada con las vibraciones y baches que emite la bici (de hecho lo sigo usando como soporte para otros accesorios...luz,musica...perfecto). Sin embargo el actual,y he utilizado varios,no presiona bien y el GPS no se sale pero baila sobre el asentamiento.

Habe es leicht am Fahrrad anbringen können. Toll das es zwei untersschiedliche Gummistreifen gibt mit denen man den Lenker schützen kann und der als Distanzstück dient.Beim fahren treten keine Vibrationen auf und deshalb ist das ablesen sehr leicht.Mit dem Clip kann man das Gerät sehr leicht und schnell abnehmen.
