This was pretty much a direct replacement for the original release assembly which was plastic. The installation took about 20 minutes due to the need to remove staples from the material covering the sofa. Very happy!

I will buy this metal recliner handle replacement part with cable again! It’s better quality than the original one that was on the chair. The parts inside are metal too, not flimsy plastic.

Alot better than original sense these are made of steel and not plastic

These are great replacement handles, very well made with a great finish to them , if you manage to break these handles that’s because your too hard on them , the cables have adjustments on them as well which is a plus and there easy to install as well.

We bought a pair of recliner sofas a few years ago. After several deployments of the footrests, the pull on one of the plastic handles was too much. It broke, and the footrest became pretty much unusable. Then another plastic handle bit the dust, so I headed to Amazon.com to see what might be available for replacements.I found this product. The dimensions seemed to match the plastic handles, so I ordered them. They're made of metal, so I hope they don't break from fatigue as the plastic ones did.I was able to replace the plastic handles and reuse the existing cables. So far... so good.

I was a little disappointed that the cable/handle was a little different than pictured, because it meant I couldn't reuse the existing cable. The handle is also slightly larger than the original, so a little hammer tapping (with a cloth to protect the paint) was needed to press it in to the opening. Still pretty easy, and should last a lot longer than the plastic original
