I would like to thank, Pete and Alexandra at Moonster products, because the leather journal that I bought from you was just perfect. I bought it as a present for my partner, who like myself, loves all things vintage/antique or as though they come from another time... and also have a great love of handcrafted items that have been made with love. This journal is beautiful... it is wonderfully rustic and the leather is beautifully soft, as though it has been worn in for years. It also has the lovely scent of real leather. We love the slightly distressed look of the natural leather and it only made it look more gorgeous and handmade. The tie is very strong and will last. The paper within is lovely, handmade, quality paper, of a creamy tint, which can be written on with a fountain/ink dipping pen, as well as any other kind of writing pen or pencils. My partner had always wanted one of these type of journals and I am very glad that I chose this one... it really is perfect and he is beyond pleased with it, he takes it everywhere he goes.. so he can write in it, when he is inspired. He couldn't believe that I had found one that was so 'him'.. and so beautiful. This is a small family company and I feel that they take real care over each product... and I'm very happy to recommend them. I would definitely buy from them again in a heartbeat. This is a very good, solidly constructed notebook. It looks like it will take a fair amount of heavy usage from stuffing in bags, etc. I like its rustic handmade look, and its feel of "comfortable solidity". The pages fall open readily, which really matters in a bound notebook, but it still feels that it will hold together well. The wrap-around cover is made of tough stuff and will be excellent protection from life's hazards, spillages, etc. The recycled cotton paper is probably an acquired taste, but I acquired it very easily. It is a bit like writing on bank-notes, but the paper is strong and of a good thickness (I think it says 125gsm). I am a fountain pen user and I have found the paper works well with all of the pens I've tried, although it doesn't get the best out of all the nibs. It definitely works with all of them, it's just a matter of taste and how heavy you want your up-strokes to be. It works with gel pens too. No discernible bleed into the paper or show-through on the other side. Before purchasing I spent a lot of time looking at a wide range of note-books. This one is practical and has immense character. It may not be elegant, but I think that's the point. It's a tough companion for all those ideas that crop up in the day, or night. It's a good size, as many I looked at were significantly larger (harder to pack), or much smaller, which made them appear very thick. I would buy another, when the time comes.

I've owned a fair few leather-bound journals in my time, and I can say that these are by far one of the best I've written in. Everything about them screams high-end luxury, from the quality leather, premium paper, excellent workmanship, and even the wonderful smell you get from opening the package for the first time. I would recommend one of these journals as a gift to anyone who enjoys writing, whether it's one who takes notes often as part of their job, someone who keeps a diary or journal, or even someone like myself, who likes to keep an authentic-feeling notebook when they're Dungeon Master-ing games of Dungeons & Dragons. I heartily recommend purchasing a quality fountain pen to write in it with, if you (or the intended recipient, if a gift) don't already own one. At the risk of hijacking my own review, Parker do a few nice and reasonably inexpensive pens, such as the Vector (though keep an eye on the flow of ink, as both of mine are a bit heavy and can smudge if you're too quick turning the page after writing). It's definitely worth also mentioning that Moonster Products Ltd might well be one of the best companies I've ever dealt with in terms of customer services. They're prompt, courteous, and one-hundred percent dedicated to no-questions, customer-comes-first service. And the icing on the cake? Whenever you buy a Moonster product, you're donating to a very, very good cause. So, to round it all off, these journals are worth every penny, not only in themselves as a premium product, but also in supporting a family business with beautiful business ethics, and in helping a worthwhile charity.

Really loved this book and it made a great present for my partner. Gorgeous, high quality leather and a really authentic 'vintage' feel to it - the pictures almost don't do it justice! Pros: -The paper is great quality and is thick so holds writing pen well. - It is bound traditionally so has multiple 'sections' which are all bound together, gives it such a nice 'vintage' feel and feels very one of a kind. -Feels very sturdy and can withstand being thrown around in a bag etc. -BEAUTIFULLY packaged, even came with a free little earphone holder!! Comes in a lovely canvas bag so you can keep it safe. Packaging was superb. Cons: Only one personal downside to me which is that the pages wouldn't be great for multiple mediums - the texture is what I can only describe as 'fluffy' meaning it seems to be a little sensitive to over erasing or watercolour. But otherwise an amazing book! Would really recommend and for the price an absolute steal :)

I recently purchased this notebook and I think that it’s probably a bargain for what you’re getting. It’s small and compact but not too small where you can’t write. The pages are thick so you can’t see you’re writing on the other side of the page (to me this was a really big plus) and lastly it has this wonderful cover with a smell that just makes you want to write in it. I really like this notebook and I can’t wait to store all my thoughts into it.

I bought this notebook as part of a birthday present for my boyfriend, who absolutely loves it. The leather is beautiful and doesn't really damage (any marks or scratches on it almost rub off completely and just adds to the 'look'). The paper is also lovely and is bound so that there are sort of 5 separate booklets within. It comes with a long leather strap with which you can close the notebook by merely wrapping it around the book (no need to tie it) and it can also function as a bookmark. Overall the notebook is very good quality and is, for my boyfriend at least, a special item to treasure. As a woman it appeals to my taste too, although perhaps a younger girl might not appreciate it as much. The delivery was speedy and the seller sent me a couple of emails after I placed my order saying a bit more about the product and who they are. It was nice to know that my purchase was supporting a small family business selling non mass produced factory items and that a percentage of the price I paid would go to the Tehila Trust, an African charity who promotes the protection of children and the prevention of child cruelty in Zambia. Overall I would say buying the notebook was an easy and pleasant experience and that my money was well spent.

What a beautiful book and it's so tactile, the leather is so soft to touch, I feel like I need to take Calligraphy to compliment the lovely book, this book was better than I expected.

Bought for my son and we both love it. Came exactly as pictures and described. Authentic cover and thick, textured pages. Worth noting that the pages aren’t ideal for some mediums if used as a sketchbook/art book.

I am absolutely in love with this journal! It's gorgeous, and as soon as I opened the package I smelled it and swooned. The smell of brushed leather is my favorite. There is literally nothing negative I could say about this gorgeous work of art. I'm amazed by the price, in all honesty... I think it's worth much, much more than the listed price. It's extremely soft from all angles... Even the pages are soft! I slept with it last night. I'm not one to keep journals, so I don't understand my love for this one. I got this for my Grimoire. I've ordered a couple others and gave them to my niece... I just didn't "feel" them. This one, however, is perfect. Enough of my creepy journal stalker talk. As stated, it's soft. The leather is aged and extremely good quality. It has a heavy weight to it, which is nice. There is no clasp, but instead a long leather strip that wraps around it several times... Also very good quality. The pages are made of cotton, and it shows. They're also soft and have a nice weight and feel to them. There was a protective "sleeve" between the leather and the first and last pages, to prevent staining and damage... Which I'm very happy for. The journal itself was in an envelope, however it was within a burlap pouch, which was also wrapped in plastic. I was so relieved about that, since it rained the night it was delivered. It's very thick... Full of pages. Many, many pages. And it looks like you can replace these pages once they're filled up with no real issues. You'd probably need to remove some stitching. It is GENUINE leather. The smell reminds me of a tack shop (I grew up with horses, so this is comforting). The company helps children in Africa and believes in being eco-friendly, which really shows in their craftsmanship. This is by far the most gorgeous item I've ever ordered off Amazon. I already had a coworker order one as well. Highly, HIGHLY recommended.

I love this notebook, I am quite old school and love to write down everything by hand despite my digital calendar.
