Excellent bit of kit. It stops me overcooking meat. By knowing the required internal temperature for safety I am enjoying beautifully cooked food. It's the right size for the job and lives on a hook in the kitchen. The temperature range is ideal for home cooking and the thermometer switches off when the probe is folded back into the main body. The light up display is useful but doesn't stay lit which conserves battery life. I recommend this tool to anyone who likes gadgets with a real purpose.

This thermometer is quick, accurate, and easy to use. From a cold start, it gives a stable reading in about 3–4 seconds, and my tests against a calibrated kitchen thermometer showed it was within ±0.5°C every time. The backlit display is clear to read, even in low light near the grill. The foldable probe design makes it compact for storage and safer to keep in a drawer — no risk of stabbing yourself on an exposed probe. I also like that it turns on automatically when you unfold it and shuts off when you close it, which saves battery. It’s versatile too — I’ve used it for meat, sugar syrup, and deep frying oil, and it handled all three with no issues. For the price, it’s an excellent, reliable kitchen tool. I purchased this food thermometer after finally getting myself a slow cooker because I was still a bit unsure if the meat was cooked properly in it and I wanted to be sure to avoid making the family sick. It's a really handy piece of kit. Super simple to use, easy to read and accurate. The first thing I did was test it in a pot of boiling water to make sure and it measured the temperature at 100.2°C so I'm happy that it measures correctly. It turns on automatically when you unfold the probe and switches off automatically when you fold it back up again which is good because it means I can't leave it switched on by accident and drain the battery. It has a handy backlight for the display to make reading the thermometer easier, which you can turn on with a quick press of a button. Hold the same button down and the thermometer readout will switch between °C and °F depending on which you prefer. To take the temperature of the food just stick the probe in the thickest part and wait a few seconds for the readout on the display to stabilise. It's that easy. It also comes with a handy temperature guide printed on the back of the thermometer for the most popular cooked meats and a more detailed paper guide too. I keep mine in the box in my cupboard but it does have a magnet on the back if you wish to store it stuck to the fridge so it's within easy reach. You may notice a rattling sound when using the thermometer, this is not a fault with the product as explained by a label attached to it. It is because the device contains a gravity sensor to allow the display to rotate depending on whether the user is right or left handed, which is a neat feature. The price of this product was very reasonable. In fact I was concerned that it may be too cheap to be much good but I was wrong. It's a fab little food thermometer that I now use everyday. I wish I'd got one sooner.
