So useful!
After 3 years of frustration, having to go upstairs and in another door, then back downstairs to unlock the basement door -- voila! We found the answer. Granted, the instructions for how to set up and use the codes are more than a bit challenging, the lock is VERY easy to use once you get it installed and set up. We bought another one dor the garage back door, we were so pleased with this one.

Fast Unlocking/Locking
Used on a carport shed door. (covered) Easy to program... for me at least. Can use on regular doors or trailer doors but some mod is needed for the door frame side (strike) It must align perfectly in the strike or it balks.Unlocks fast unlike Kwikset. If you don't need to unlock remotely (wifi) this is the best option. I have the expensive Kwikset units too and they are a pain and chew up battery. My 93-year-old aunt has the one with the fingerprint function and loves it. No key no need to remember the code if locked out. Always has her thumb with her.

Issues with 2-3/4" BackSet for Auto Lock
The media could not be loaded. So Far So Good - knock on wood *knock* *knock* *knock*I had to EXTEND the latch to the LONGER 2 3/4" Backset which in this case it doesn't function as well. I ALSO used Lithium batteries for LONGER life span but they recommend Alkaline.Plz take note that with the LONGER 2 3/4" Backset, the Dial DOES NOT GO ALL THE WAY BACK to the UN-lock position & BEEP, so Auto Lock DOES NOT WORK. For example, say from outside you type in your code to enter, if the dial doesn't go all the way back & beep by the time you're inside & close the door, then Auto Lock won't work UNLESS you manually turn the dial all the way to the Lock position, then to the Open position so it beeps. It works perfectly
I was confused and a bit disappointed it didn't come with the keys, but the product does it's job.

Nice lock that works well!
The media could not be loaded. I scoured the web for some time to find a lock that worked well, was deemed easy for locksmith installation and easy to manage and code by the owner and I came across this one. It works well and is the perfect addition to a property we rent. We have a bedroom in each of our properties that is not deemed for use and this is a great way to deadbolt the room door and prevent access.

Followed instruction…second one I installed, wires heated through plastic
I wrote to their customer service a week ago. I purchased this in July but got around to it now since I bought it prior to my move. I’ve had no response from the company. Not sure if this is reflective of every unit and sometimes you get a defective one. I just want a replacement.

An inexpensive deadbolt with an SC1 keyway that worked, but read the instructions BEFORE installing
**UPDATE** 09-2023 ** Their price just went up $10. I can't say any longer that this is the best value out there. I still like the deadbolt for some of its features, but watch the prices. There are very few tactile-button, electronic deadbolts that come from the factory with an SC1 compatible keyway, but this one did. I needed three, so I decided to give it a try. It is a good deadbolt. Keep in mind, you get the quality you pay for. **HINT** READ THE INSTRUCTIONS before you begin to install this, ESPECIALLY if you regularly install deadbolts. These has specific steps which had to be followed BEFORE the batteries were put into place. I did not follow the instructions exactly and had to reset the lock to get it to work. When I followed the instructions, the Installation was straightforward. Assembly: The outside portion attached to a plate on the inside, then the inside portion is bolted to the inside plate...similar to the Kwikset or Defiant brands. The inside portion was a thin, cheap plastic. The deadbolt latch extended deeper (was slightly longer) into the door than other latches. I just chiseled an extra 16th of an inch deeper and it worked fine. A couple of fitting issues I LIKED. The latch can fit into a 7/8" bore hole, but has the adaptor for a 1" bore hole. Also, I liked that while the 2-1/8" through-hole I was working with was not perfectly aligned front to back, this deadbolt did not require that extreme level of precision that other electronic deadbolts do, and all of the components lined up and worked smoothly. This will NOT install in a 1-1/2" throughhole. The bolt itself only extended about 1", but if you install the strike plate with long screws, the bolt length is not really an issue. The kit came with the heavy back plate and a thin nickel cover plate and 1-1/2" long screws. I recommend buying and using at least 2" or 3" screws if your jamb will accommodate them. The kit comes with two pre-cut SC1 keys. The SC1 (5-pin only) lock cylinder had loose tolerances (owners will like how smoothly the key works), but I liked that the pinning DID match Schlage's normal pin lengths. The cylinder had the long, thin tailpiece. The wires seemed to tuck away from the thumbturn area, so fraying shouldn't be a problem. The wiring harness end was short, which made it tough to plug together with my fat fingers. This deadbolt needs 4x AA batteries which were not included. Once the assembly is put together, you MUST hold the reset button while plugging in the last battery so that the deadbolt will automatically hand itself. There were more GOOD points. This deadbolt was EASY TO PROGRAM when the instructions were followed, and the instructions were clear. I liked the privacy issue which allows a user to enter a user code in the MIDDLE of other digits so that other eyes cannot make out the actual user code. I also like that it can be set up to auto lock after 30-seconds.OVERALL... I like the features and the SC1 keyway for an electronic deadbolt of this price. Quality is what it is, but if you don't need WiFi access and need that SC1 keyway, this works.

Was tricky to install but works like a charm
For some reason it wouldn’t line up for us, we had to keep making the hole bigger until we for some miracle got it to match and assemble. It’s been going for a couple of months now, it’s reliable. It’s given us peace of mind to know the door is locked.
