I know others have complained about this cable pulling the magnetic attachments out of their Z3... I don't know how. This thing has the right amount of magnetic "catch" to it. It goes on solidly and reliably but to my mind doesn't hold too hard.It is easy to see when the phone is charging- the phone's indicators themselves come on.I like the bright blue light. It helps me to find the end of the cable quickly, and I can see the phone from across the room (my wife forgets where she puts the phone a lot). I thought I would be annoyed because the LED is not a charging indicator, but like I said the phone will tell you.The cable works well with our case. Since the attaching area is not much larger if at all than the magnetic charging port, I couldn't forsee a problem with any case- unlike Sony's charging cradle.I like that it's the cable only. I have enough USB chargers lying around the house by now that I don't need another one.It charges the phone up quickly.It means we have to open the waterproof charging port almost never, which means less wear and tear.You do have to plug it in in the proper direction- cable pointing to the bottom of the phone- I told my wife never ever to reverse it and I haven't tried. This seems like nary a hardship whatsoever.All in all, this is the perfect accessory for my wife's cellphone. I'm glad I bought it. I can recommend it without reservation.

I originally liked this charging cable. Worked well for almost 5 months on my Z3 Compact. Although it can be knocked off, I liked it not having tooooo strong a magnetic, since I didn't want it to wreck the charging port.Today, I tried to use it, and it wouldn't start the phone charging at all. I finally took my phone out of the case, tried again, finally got it to register the charger. Then I went to check if it was charged awhile later and the charging LED was switching on and off constantly, although it charged to approx. 95% before doing this. At that point, I couldn't get it to have a proper connection again and had to finish the charging via USB.The LED light on the cable is constantly on, when plugged in, so apparently power is making it that far. However, it doesn't seem to make it into my phone. The charging port on the phone appears undamaged, but without another cable to test, I can't be sure that this cable didn't cause damage to the port as well.Quite disappointed, as this cable worked well, even with the case on, which some are apparently too big to do. This is the first cable I've ever had that has stopped working. Expected better quality.

A lot of reviewers were saying that it is difficult to align the charger with the phone and that it disconnects too easily. I have not had any trouble using it with the Z2. The magnet is very strong and it pretty much snaps itself into place. I would recommend getting this cord if you own a Z2 and the usb cover on that phone is very weak and repeated opening and closing for charging will eventually compromise the phones waterproofing.

Purchased one of these about a year ago, and it died a few months ago. I decided to try out a new cable that had a much weaker magnet (unknown to me at the time) and absolutely could not stand it, so I switched back to this cable. Now that I know this cable is relatively fragile, I try to pamper it a bit - no haphazardly throwing it in my backpack and I avoid twisting it unnecessarily.Good product other than the original one I had dying on me - I suspect my second one will be fine if I'm just more careful with it.

I purchased this to charge my Sony Z3 Compact. It is finicky to get seated and the slighted bump will knock it off. Yes it will charge your phone but I would not recommend it. I also purchased the Magnector X magnetic head that fits on a micro usb and that is a MUCH stronger magnet and chargers faster. I would recommend that one over this. It's a little more expensive but worth it.

Good, strong magnet, holds firm even in the car. Charges quicker than the micro-USB cable on my Sony Z Ultra. I can go from around 50% to 99% in the time it takes me to drive home from work (an hour, usually). That's using a 2.1-amp charger in the car.

This charger is awesome.. It's the fastest charger I've came across yet! I don't even charge my phone at night anymore.. I plug it in when I get up in the mornings before work. Hour and a half.. And it's fully charged! Magnet is very strong.. And it fits very well..even with my Love mei aluminum bumper frame on my z ultra! Very satisfied with this product!

Cheap price for a magnetic cable. It works, but the connection is a little finicky if the phone is jostled even slightly. I wouldn't want to use it in a car, and it is only useful at home if the phone is not going to moved at all while charging. But it works, and the charging seems to be relatively quick.
