FINALLY - new state of the art tech for a safe pool
This does exactly what it says. Buy it right now. Finally a pool product that brings pools to the 2023 era of must have products like the iphone/pixel or apple watch, etc. Package, design, app, implementation, customer service all tops. Beacon sits in the pool (attached however you'd like, we have it stuck via included 3M tape to waterline tile in the middle of the pool) and detects wave movement. If the 3 year old goes in the pool it senses it immediately (1+ seconds). The app helps you to determine best placement (not next to skimmer or infloor cleaning jets). Beacon connects wirelessly (bluetooth i think) to a receiver which looks like a modern thermostat. Beacon uses batteries which appear to last for months. Receiver is mounted on indoor wall. Must be within 100 feet of beacon. Ours is about 40 feet on a wall that has a window overlooking pool. Receiver has various functions but it is essentially a giant alarm (same siren as fire/carbon monoxide detector). When beacon senses movement in pool which means someone has walked/fallen in, the receiver sounds the alarm very loudly and also sends notification to your phone via the app. It is near instantaneous (probably 1+ second delay). The notification on your phone happens anywhere you are as long as you have cell service. The receiver has buttons which can control the beacon. Off, on or swim mode (doesn't sound the alarm but when waves stop turns itself back to the on position automatically). We don't use any buttons on the receiver because the app has all the functionality. The receiver plugs in or has a battery that recharges via an included cable. The app is super slick. On/Off/Swim mode. Helps you to set up device. Change sensitivity settings (some places are more windy, some pools with infloor systems have a "busier" surface water. Adjust for size of pool, etc. All modern. Firmware updates have been pushed through. Shows you if receiver has good signal. Can set "quiet times" where alarm will not be active. Shows history. Various other set up options. Customer service is via email and response time is <24 hours. Its possible you have questions, and it appears from my experience they will be answered in an acceptable timeframe and manner. I am impressed. I have a new(ish) pool and the contractor installed iaqualink from zodiac which is an all encompassing wireless pool control system (pumps, heat, infloor, lights, etc) that you control from anywhere. It is terrible. The app is super outdated, not slick, need to be a computer expert to reprogram even simple functions which negates its utility and therefore its mostly useless (and very expensive). Feels like it was designed 20 years ago. This is not what lifebuoy is. Lifebuoy app, beacon, receiver and controls are all what you might expect apple or google to have designed. Wish they made a product to replace iaqualink.

Love this alarm!
I absolutely love this alarm. We have a 33' x 18' inground pool and I was concerned that one buoy would not be enough but it is perfect. We have a puppy that fell into the pool and lucky enough I was there to help her out before we had a tragic event. With also having a 2yr old granddaughter and it was time to start looking for a pool alarm. I read comments and looked at several different types of alarms. In reading the review on this model, most of the comments were from amazon vine users. I was a little worried but since the alarm had free returns, I took my chances and I am so very glad I did. We placed it half way down the long length of the pool. I put 5 gallons of water in an empty sprayer and dropped it down a few feet in each corner of the pool and the alarm went off within 5 seconds or less. This is with the sensitivity level set on 3 on the app. The alarm sounded at the pool buoy and inside the home and was quite loud. One thing I did not read in the instructions is that when the alarm sounds off, after about 15 seconds, it will go into swim mode. Then eventually it will switch back to alarm mode. I like this feature. When I first installed it in our pool and began downloading the APP, I had some difficulty, so I emailed the company Customer Service. Within an hour they responded back with the answer I needed. Grateful for the great customer service and quick response. The flow for our below ground pool is close to the top of our pool and we did have to adjust the flow a little below the top water level to prevent the alarm from going off every morning when the pool pump turns on. Some time it still goes off and although I could change the sensitivity level on the App to a different level, I don't mind hearing it every now and then just to hear the alarm still works. We also have a chlorinator that floats on the top of our pool and every now and then when it hits the alarm it may also make it sound the alarm. I love this alarm and it has given my husband and I the PEACE OF MIND knowing that our family can be safe. It may cost a little more that some of the others, but my husband and I would highly recommend this alarm. You get what you pay for and the peace of mind that we now have was well worth the price.

Frequently unresponsive buttons
It took several hours for the app and alarm to finally recognize my WiFi even though my WiFi is good and the router is close to both. It made a ridiculously annoying frequent beep to alert me that the WiFi wasnโt connected which drove my dog insane. I later discovered that you can turn off the WiFi connection and just use the pool unit without the app, but for some reason you have to press and hold the WiFi several times before it responds. If the alarm goes off (and I have been getting more and more false alarms despite it being barely breezy), you have to sprint up to pick it up and turn it sideways to turn it into swim mode AND you have to sprint to turn off the indoor pool unit. You have to sprint because it will drive your neighbors insane. And you canโt just do one or the other, because both the indoor pool unit and the actual pool floatie will alarm separately. Neither of these actions work consistently so my husband often keeps turning the pool unit on its side while I keep pressing the off button again and again while my toddler is losing her mind from the noise and my neighbors are driven insane. I donโt know why you inexplicably have to press the off button on the pool unit several times before it responds. If you want to turn off the alarm for a pool cleaning, you are told you can put it in โswim modeโ but you have to press and hold swim mode several times before it responds. And then it automatically goes back to the alarm mode after a few minutes which is supposed to be a nice feature in case you forget it in swim mode, but it mean the pool alarm suddenly goes off if you take a break from cleaning for a few minutes. So the best way Iโve figured out how to deal with this is turn off the indoor pool unit (by pressing the off button a million times over a minute). Then youโd think you can just take the pool alarm out of water? Nope because it will still alarm nonstop. So you turn that into swim mode by flipping it 90 degrees, cross your fingers that that eventually works, and then taking the alarm out of the pool. I had previously given this a good review because I hadnโt started getting all the false alarms, and hadnโt yet tried turning it off during pool alarms. I also was not bothered by the issue I had with the WiFi connection because I thought it would be a one-time problem. But every time I turn off the pool alarm and then turn it back on later, it insists on trying to re-connect to WiFi, and beeps annoyingly while I try pressing the WiFi button a million times to stop the re-connection. Extremely frustrated because these sounds have driven my elderly dog and my toddler insane, and Iโm sure my neighbors hate me

Worked flawlessly, but not a substitute for a fence. Use 3M Command strips for temporary install
Bought this to use in a friend's unfenced pool when we visited for a few days, with a non-swimming 5-year old. Install and setup was quite smooth, including the iOS app. Devices arrived with good battery levels, and setup instrcution were clear. Two tips: * Use 3M Command Outdoor strips ($4) for a temporary install at the edge of the pool. * Must use the included USB-A-to-USB-C cable to power the indoor unit. Just using a regular USB-C cable won't work. The alarm worked very reliably within it's advertised functions. It was easy to disable for swim mode (hold the unit vertically for a few seconds). The in-pool alarm fired whenever anyone got in the pool without first disabling it (this probably happened 5-10 times, including testing), and it never fired a false alarm even when the wind over the pool picked up to >10mph. The indoor unit also sounded its siren reliably. The notifications on iPhone and Apple Watch were a nice plus (telling you when an alarm sounded, and also when the device was placed into swim mode or armed/disarmed), and worked perfectly, but I would not rely on these for safety-critical function, since they necessarily rely on your device being charged, the indoor unit being connected, wifi connection being enabled, etc. Limitations: the indoor unit has to be within ~50 ft of the outdoor unit to maintain contact and act as a WiFi bridge. If you have a large house, with multiple floors and closed doors, consider that you may need to place the indoor unit somewhere where it might not be heard over music, etc. Fundamentally, even a well-designed a pool alarm is no substitute for an unclimbable physical barrier. One concerning occurrence was that a couple times in the morning the indoor unit would report that it had lost contact with the pool alarm (the pool alarm itself was still armed and working well). However despite that warning, the connection seemed fine; I could still control the outdoor unit, etc. So I think it might just be a bug, hopefully fixed in firmware.

Good, not great.
Set up is fast and easy, which is important for a safety device. I do have a two gripes. It didnโt ship with a USB-C plug. Theyโre ubiquitous, so I understand why, but theyโre pretty cheap so thereโs also no reason not to. I prefer premium safety devices ship with everything. Another small issue is turning it off. When turned off it sends a pop up notification but no reminders. I have turned it off and forgotten to turn it back on until a few days later. Swim mode works great, but there are times like thunderstorms or house parties where we need it off. I think an occasional reminder that the unit off every few hours would help offset some human tendencies. Otherwise, fantastic safety device! Worth every penny!

I feel this is a must have for every pool owner.
I've waited 7 months before write a review. I purchased this alarm for several reasons. 1. Most important is getting notified when someone has fallen into the pool. The notification is a loud siren at the unit, a satellite unit in the house and on my phone. The alarm can be temporarily turned off at the unit, the satellite or my phone. Just a heads up, don't forget to remove the unit from the pool and set it on its side before cleaning the pool otherwise you'll set off the alarm like I did

Great idea. Terrible execution.
Man this device is really promising. Unfortunately it feels very beta right now- as most of my issues are with the app and the ability to properly silence alarms and notifications. This is unfortunate since it's priced with a "peace of mind" premium for a very unpolished product. I have been testing for about a week now to find the right sensitivity settings. When the alarm sounds, swiping from the app rarely works. I usually have to swipe 6 or 7 times as it keeps popping up. Normally, this never mutes the alarm. When it does, it usually only mutes inside while the buoy alarm continues to sound and annoy my neighbors. To silence the buoy, I have to open the app which is usually stuck spinning for several minutes, and when it finally stops, click the "off" button. Sometimes it never stops spinning and I must force close the app, clear the cache, re-open, and turn it off. Meanwhile the alarm is sounding outside the entire time. Also, when turning it off from the app, I will get a notification usually 10 minutes later to let me know it has been changed to "off" or "swim". For my wife and I- this means there's a considerable delay if one of us turns off the app or if it turns itself off for some reason before we are notified. While this is annoying, my other issue is the most concerning- and that is the sensitivity settings. They seem very inconsistent. A product like this requires significant trust and repeatable results to earn that trust. In my testing with several kids over several days, we've had them "fall" in with minimal splashing, flailing, and just normal swimming. What does and doesn't trigger the alarm seems very odd and inconsistent. Sometimes it will go off and sometimes it won't. Yesterday my daughter was playing 5 feet from it and it wouldn't trigger, while this morning I grabbed a water sample on the other side of the pool and it went off. I think this device has a lot of potential. Unfortunately in it's current state, muting the alarm is moderately annoying, and trusting the alarm to go off consistently is impossible. You're basically dropping $500 and hoping it works that one time you need it to- but knowing it probably won't. The most frustrating part of all of this is the Bcone has a higher price tag than the lifebuoy- all because of the wifi connectivity - which is actually currently useless in this device because you have to work so hard to silence it remotely. I'll hold on to mine until the end of the return period and if any changes are made to show they're listening, I'll keep it and update my review. If not, I'll return it until they're resolved. Given it's been available for over a year and a half and still has basic issues with notifications, I'm not holding my breath.

UPDATED REVIEW -- ALL IS WELL
FINAL UPDATE: Promptly received new unit. I did have trouble getting the APP to work correctly however it turned out the problem was my IOS phone font was set too large. After adjusting it smaller everything on APP worked as it should. CUSTOMER SERVICE CALLED ME FROM ISRAEL AND STAYED ON THE PHONE WITH ME UNTIL IT WAS ALL CONNECTED AND WORKING PROPERLY. Pool alarm is working splendidly. After all the issues and frustrations getting it setup with the technology the alarm itself is great and I will purchase again if needed. UPDATE: After contacting customer service again they have offered to send me an entirely new home and pool unit. It should be here on Saturday. Will update review afterwards. I had used the previous version of this product and it worked great. It died after a few years so upgraded to the $400 model. Sounded great with the APP improvements. You have to email someone in Israel, wait for a reply, then email again when their suggestions don't work. NEVER COULD GET THE POOL UNIT TO CONNECT TO HOME UNIT even though I went through all of the steps. I AM SICK I MISSED THE RETURN DEADLINE. Now I have to spend more money on another product --- Grrrrrr..... I am furious about this purchase.

Great product.
Has a nice feature where it will alert just your cell phone, if you want (which we did). Senses anytime the puppies go in the pool. Exactly what we were looking for.

Update: customer support reached back (when contacted via their website) and offered a solution.
We used the bcone for a few days before it started turning on by itself, even when the home device and app were off. After numerous false alarms, we contacted the seller through Amazon and their website but did not receive any response. On several occasions, it took us over an hour to turn the device off (while the loud alarm goes on ). Eventually, we opened it to remove the batteries and found water inside. We missed the return deadline by three days, and now the seller is not responding to our warranty claims or requests for repair or replacement of the pool unit. Considering the price of the product, we expected better quality and customer service. Update: customer support replied when contacted via their website and offered refund (subject to us paying for the return postage).
