If you are looking for an earth-shattering, neighbor-piss-offing, car-next-to-you-window-rattling, headache-causing, etc subwoofer, DON'T BUY THIS. This is a heart-pounding, music-sounds-so-damn-good-it-gets-you-teary-eyed, fuzzy-feelings-inside, work of art. Tuned, placed, and powered correctly will make you want to laugh at how once upon a time you just wanted to make as much noise as possible. All hyperbole aside this is my setup.I am driving this with an Alpine PDX-V9 (pumps out 520 watts RMS at 4 Ohms to a subwoofer plus it has 4 channels for the rest of the speakers), I obviously don't have the gain all the way up, TUNE PROPERLY, but this means the amp is not working too hard to drive the subwoofer to its maximum abilities. I have an aftermarket EQ since I kept my factory head unit so this makes it easy to adjust how I want my bass to sound.A set of JL Components finish up my set up and the secret to making this sub a prefect match is crossing over at just the right spot for your taste. I have mine topped off at 90hz because the JL mid range drivers can play 90 hz beautifully.Tips: Use the best wires you can afford, and make the most solid connections you can, it makes all the difference in the world.When played at the peak of it's powers you will feel your hair vibrate, so if you think it's not that good or loud, check your setup, trust me, it bumps!

Sound quality is pretty good. Way more than enough bass for regular people. Plays upper bass frequencies well, down to about 27hz, then drops off.If you consider yourself a true bass head though, i guarantee this definitely wont produce enough bass for you. (like me, had to upgrade to a sundown x12)

I'm only giving 3 stars cause I think it should be louder. The build quality is 5 stars. I mated it with an Alpine MVR-M500. I think I would have rather went sealed box instead of ported
