If this rack is in your price range and all you are wondering about is quality I would say buy it, I would be very, very surprised if you were disappointed.I looked at various racks before purchasing this one but all previous racks looked rather flimsy compared to this item.I have a Ford Mondeo and write from this perspective.This rack is very solid with two main contact points, one just below the number plate and the second on the top of boot. Each contact point has large sponge feet which protect your vehicle.The two arms can be set at 4 different angles and can as the info states hold three bikes.Two adjustable straps fit under boot/just below number plate, two more fit top of rear windscreen and two further straps fit off to the sides by rear lights. Once fitted the item is very secure and I had no issues getting the clips to fit where they were meant to.This item comes fully assembled which saves a lot of time. Instructions are simple and clear. I read them once and was able to fit the rack without referring to them again. In fact it would not be too difficult to fit this item without even looking at the instructions at all.This item can be fitted in easily and simply in 10minsOnce fitted I loaded by bike and as recommend adjusted the straps to allow for the weight of the bike. I then used the central restraining strap to hold the bike in place. I had to use a couple of bungee cords to hold the wheel of my bike in place, but I would have done that for extra security any way.After driving for 30mins I checked my bike and nothing had shifted at all.All in all I am very pleased and glad I spent the extra money.I have now had the chance to use this rack on a 100mile journey carrying two cycles. Even after speeds of 70mph on motorway everything was a solid as it was when I started the journey and when driving nothing gave me cause for concern.I would recommend this rack without hesitation.I did have a query and emailed Hollywood info. I had a reply within 15mins so manufacturer/distributor was spot on too.Further more ordered Wednesday evening, arrived Friday.....can't ask for more than that.

This rack is exactly as described: compact, easily fitted, and solid. Full marks for that.The instructions enclosed are not very clear but I found a manufacturer's demo film on YouTube here: http://youtu.be/nG1IfFqHssY which dealt with most issues.There are two small niggles:1. The metal clips which attach to the boot lid and sides will undoubtedly chafe and damage the paintwork over time so you might want to cover the lid edges with some tape first.2. The rack does not include clips for holding the bikes firm to the rack as some others do. This means you have to use the enclosed straps (or buy bungees) to hold cycles in place. It seems a less secure way of doing things but, as you can read elsewhere here, no one seems to have encountered problems.I particularly liked to large rubber "bumpers" which protect the bodywork.

Perfect. From arriving in top class packaging, fully assembled to the secure fit and quality components I could not be happier. Dispatched from discountcycleshop promptly and arrived next day. Fitted to an Alfa Romeo 159 saloon. Side straps were a little tight, but only because the shut lines on the car are narrow. Fitted first time in five minutes, will take two the second.I do have a fair bit of overage on the webbing and may trim that in the future, worried about fraying though.

Disappointed that this product didn't fit either of our cars even though it's universal. And wasn't impressed with the returns policy.

Bought a similar design some years ago and it was a constant worry when driving with it - threw it away after one journey so was very cautious about buy another rack of this type. However this rack had excellent reviews, so decided to try it out. Overall, very pleased with it.The rack was easier to fit, took probably 15 minutes, but I reckon I could fit it in 5 now I know how it all connects - can't really mess it up. I stopped halfway to check, no problems, drove for 100 miles, took the bikes off, felt really secure. I have a Lexus IS200, fit more than comfortably. Only small down side is the amount of belt remaining once secure, but tied that around the bikes.Would definitely recommend, well worth the price.

Delivered within a day of ordering and used it straight away. Have used it before I bought mine. Really easy to put up. Secure enough to go around dirt tracks and highway at 70mph. Never forget to tie the center strap around all the bikes’ main stay as this is the only thing that really keep your bikes attached to your car. I also go down to double check after a mile of driving as the ridges are not really good enough to keep the bikes where you put them and the bikes WILL settle into new position after a few shakes. One concern about the main bars is that your bikes are really just “free” to slide against each other until they settle. Otherwise the overall quality is excellent and the buckle are coated and the straps haven’t frayed. Use plenty of bungee to keep the wheels from spinning or turning. I also found the 90p insulation foam from B&Q fits the bar to provide extra cushioning. Have only used it for two bikes but can imagine 3 bikes will take some careful planning and pedal removals, handlebar resetting etc. A slight up tilt will cause less dangling when driving and maybe less chance of mishap if you ever forget to tie the main strap.

Seems to work on my Audi a4 avant. I had reservations the first time setting it up. Seemed wobbly, but both bikes got there and back, in tact.I'd consider spending the extra and get a tow bar next time.

We fitted this to a Ford Kuga (2014 model) and it worked perfectly, carrying three bikes without so much as a scratch on the car whilst still leaving the brake lights and number plate visible. I gave up trying to fathom out the instructions and watched the YouTube video, and then fitted it in about 2 minutes.Highly recommended.

J'ai acheté ce porte-vélo pour mettre sur ma Citroen Xsara avec 1 vélo électrique et 1 vélo dame. Les autres porte-vélos (à part le Thulle à 300 euros...) ne pouvaient pas porter ces types de vélo. Sur celui-ci, ça fonctionne très bien.Solide, rien ne bouge et il semble s'adapter à la plupart des voitures et des vélos.Merci à Alimay Sport d'avoir permis la livraison en Belgique pour ce produit qui n'était disponible qu'en France et au R.U !

We bought this for our recent beach vacation and it arrived just a few hours before we were due to leave, so I was a little concerned after reading some of the reviews on here that it would be difficult to install and/or not too sturdy or not big enough.We drive a 2005 Dodge Carvan and hauled three adult sized bicycles from Ohio to South Carolina and back. One bike was a beach style cruiser, one was a hybrid beach/town cruiser and one was a mountain bike. We had PLENTY of room for all three and probably could have fit a 24 inch or smaller child's bike on if we had wanted.It was super simple to install, it literally took 10 minutes and minimal fuss. It was very solid, even driving through torrential rains and high winds in the mountains, bumpy roads, freeway speeds, etc. We never at any point noticed the bikes shaking, rattling or anything else that concerned us. We checked the straps at every restroom stop and everytime we stopped for gas and had no issues with it. It didn't scratch or dent our van in any way. It's very light weight, folds away easily and isn't bulky at all. The quality of the materials seem good, strong & sturdy and we expect this to last us several years with care (wiping it down if it gets wet, spraying it off when we're near the ocean & salt water air gets on it, storing it in the garage, etc).In short, after using this on an 1800 mile trip in sun, rain, wind and salty ocean air with NO problems, I've concluded that the people who complained of their bicycles falling off, coming loose or from the rack damaging their cars, bikes or anything else, simple didn't follow the directions on how to install it or use it.....which makes zero sense to me because it was super easy. Our neighbor is an avid cyclist (competes in triathlons all over the country) and he was impressed with how simple this was to install and the quality of it, he liked it so much he ordered an extra one for their other car and one for their daughter, who also competes. And they know their bike stuff. Highly recommended to anyone who wants a budget friendly, great quality, simple to use bike rack (just make sure you have common sense as well) :)

Have this for my 2011 Honda Odyssey Touring fits great i put up to 3 bikes on this B. and is solid.Good value too. have this for 2yrs now.

Cet équipement correspond parfaitement à mon besoin spécifique.En effet, monter un porte-vélos sur une BM série 3 limousine semblait presque mission impossible.Eh non, la fixation "Hollywood" permet de véhiculer aisément 2 vélos, tout en laissant la possibilité (réduite certes) d'accéder au coffre.Je l'ai testé sur grande distance (1000 km), pas de problème.Indice de satisfaction, 10/10.Bonne route aux amateurs.Bernard
