10" UNIVERSAL Top Hung UPVC Window Friction Hinges, Pair

This is the second time that I've bought these hinges. My double glazing is quite old now and the hinges have started to seize. I tried lubricating the old ones but it didn't work that well, so I bought these hinges and have replaced them on 2 windows. The difference is amazing. The windows now open fully and the price is very good. I researched how to do it on Youtube and found that it is very straightforward to do. It helps to have another person just to support the window while you put the first few screws in. I would recommend getting new screws especially for the bottom hinge as this gets all the weather.

Fantastic. Slightly different length than the hinges it was replacing, but a little bit of trial and error and attached wonderfully. My window now closes again, smoother than it ever was.

Better quality than the worn ones I replaced. It seems that windows hinge sizes are standard but the fitting holes are not. Luckily the new hinge top mount holes matched exactly with the previous hinges, so I just made new holes for the 2 remaining fixtures on each hinge and everything then matched up perfectly. The fiddliest part is doing it alone - I recommend having a buddy if possible to hold the window while you re-attach the hinge to the frame.

Good quality 10 inch replacement hinges. Despite advising both hinges should be replaced together to get correct pitch / swing, these worked fine individually with the existing undamaged ones on the window. So have kept some spare for when the other hand fails...!

Fitted without trouble - having to screw in a screw in a new location is not trouble nor an inconvenience.My 2 windows are now working well.Just keep them greased up a little every winter and they'll last years.

I have at last got around to replacing the broken hinge on one of our windows - these were easy enough to fit and almost a direct replacement wrt screw location - the window now opens and closes securely as it should - so overall a good diy solution

After drilling additional holes to fit the brackets they did the job required.

10 mins to fit repaired broken hinges easy peasy. you need to change both hinges as the throw may be different between brands.
