I bought this hob for camping, fully expecting it to be… well, hob-tier. Wrong. This little legend has exceeded all expectations. It works brilliantly, is ridiculously easy to use, and wipes down so fast it practically cleans itself while winking at me. I’ve cooked breakfasts, dinners, and a very ambitious attempt at curry on it, it didn’t complain once. Lightweight, efficient, and somehow elegant, this hob makes me feel like a gourmet chef in the wild… or at least like someone who knows what they’re doing with a frying pan. Verdict - Five stars. If camping hobs were allowed to have personalities, this one would be the friendly, dependable, slightly smug companion you invite to every trip.

Value for money and good quality

Bought this when my full sized cooker packed up. it was good in that it worked with all my pans BUT I bought an induction hot plate at the same time. Apart from the problem that not all my old pans didn't work on the induction hob, it was much faster and more controlable and it told me if the pan was not suitable. Result, after my cooker was fixed, the induction hob stayed out and the mini 2 hot plate hob is now in the back of the cupboard

Plugged it in to test and the hot plates got hot quickly, have not cooked on it yet but I can’t see any problems.

Decent product has lasted over a year with no problems

This hob has come in really handy lately as we've just moved house and are undergoing extreme kitchen renovations (no oven/hob). This hob easily plugs into the mains, is nice and compact, has 2 hot plates (1 bigger and the other slightly smaller) and is super easy to use. You can control the heat output of each individual hob independently which is a nice touch. Heats a regular sized saucepan easily and efficiently. The unit is easy to clean as it's just stainless steel. I'd absolutely recommend this product if you're lacking an oven hob. It's also reasonably priced too, in my opinion.

This does work OK. Once the large stove gets going its very hot & effective. Problem is there's no way to know for sure that turning the knobs round to 'off' actually means that. There's no click or way to be sure. So you have to turn it off at the wall to be sure. Cable isn't that long, 31 inches. Only plug it directly into the wall - plugging into a plug on an extension lead means it will get very hot indeed (too hot). So its OK, but having to turn device off at the wall means you might lean across the very hot stove. Risky.

When you buy this it has something in it to protect it while travelling. The instructions tell you that the first time you use it these will burn off. Be warned they do create a small amount smoke when doing this which can be a bit alarming. It is best done outdoors, or in a very well ventilated place. I think other reviewers may have not read the instructions and assumed this was a dangerous fault. It does make me wonder how portable it really is as after you do the burning off thing it clearly no longer has the travelling support. We used it for a few months while we had our kitchen knocked down and a new one built. As such we had it in and out of the box every day, but didn't really travel with it. It seemed to survive and is still working well enough that we will continue to keep it. It's not as powerful as our old gas hob or the fitted induction hob we now have, but it is plenty hot enough for frying and boiling. The two temperature control nobs, don't seem to have an off position. They go down to 0, but I get the impression that if it got really cold they would still come on. As such I wouldn't feel happy leaving it unattended without switching off at the plug. All told though I was pleased with this purchase and would recommend it to others.
