Book Review
Book 2 of The Legacies of Powerful Men Trilogy (I haven't read the other two), Gizmo became my favorite character from the start. Well, even before I met him, Gizmo the mutt, though he should've got more space in the story.A story of Nik (Nikolos) Christakis and Betsy who are on the verge of a divorce, with Betsy, it seems, wanting to rip him off of all his billions. But a bout of makeup sex leads to pregnancy, which brings them together again. Nik had had an abusive childhood, and hence didn't want to have children, for which he even had vasectomy done. While after her parents' and grandmother's death at the age of eleven, Betsy had to go into foster care, which led her to not wanting babies. But her view changed when she found herself lonely, what with Nik always away on business trips.Nik is a complete take charge kind of a guy. He constantly steamrollers Betsy, even to the point of saying that "this is how she should feel"! But, he is out of his emotional depth, due to the abusive childhood he had suffered. What really shocked me was that in spite of knowing he couldn't have a baby, Nik kept Betsy on the hook for almost a year, while she had to go through the disappointment of not falling pregnant for such a long time. That was just outrageous! But, equally horrific was what Nik had to go through in his childhood, with no one to turn to. But, instead of bottling it up, he seeks help from a therapist, and finally opens up to Betsy, which was not at all easy. This book had the most wonderful of endings.

The h in the first part of the book played victim beautifully which makes her slightly annoying
Not up to LGs usual standard but still an enjoyable read. The h in the first part of the book played victim beautifully which makes her slightly annoying, but the book picked up when she finally kicked off at the H and finally showed him she had some backbone. The H really had no idea how to relate to his wife but you saw odd moments when you realised he cared, just didnt know how to show it.Have to say I enjoy LGs books more when the h is a little fiestier and not always so helpless when it comes to saying no to sex. This idea that the h's are so hopelessly in love they cannot control their physical desire is beginning to feel dated and ... well .... overdone now.

boring!
I have very mixed feelings about this author some of her books I loved but most I disliked as i find her female leads too tstl with their clingy behaviour and lack of pride. This book again has the type of female I hate reading about I just feel like howling with frustration that an author this good can write such doormats for her female lead. I have decided to give up on her books and just keep re reading The Spanish Groom now that was a really cute female.

Heart warming tale
The storyline was straightforward by the warmth of each character made for a page turning plot. Each characters foibles made them interesting and you wanted to find happiness, so was eagerly read on to find out how achieved their ultimate reconciliation. A wonderful read.
