Canon 12x36 Binoculars
Excellent optics. Light enough for long walks. IS image detail for wildlife fantastic. At half the price of the newer model and bigger optics (36mm) .

Excellent Optics and Stabilisation
Although expensive these are good value. Optical quality is very good with only minor colour fringing on very high contrast edges. Stabilisation is brilliant especially for people who don't have steady hands - allows you to see so much more detail. The only slight negative is the lack of object lens covers which I purchased separately. Used them for star planet and moon gazing but really bought them for a safari. They excelled at everything.

Best binoculars i have ever owned !
I have purchased several binoculars over the years including Zeiss. All are difficult to use. And the more powerful ones virtually useless due to shake. After reading some reviews i settled for these, a compromise between magnification and size. The very first time i used these for bird watching in my garden i focused and pressed the button and was shocked how after e few seconds everything became clear and steady. The first truly usable binoculars. The 12 x was a perfect choice as it hits the sweet spot between real life performance power and size. I have never used binoculars this much simply because they deliver. The light gathering is good, image very clear and sharp. It would have been nice if they incorporated lens cover and better eye cup covers, there is very slight colour fringing in bright light but these are minor issues. I am very pleased with the purchase and i would strongly recommend them.

Perfect for anyone with senile shakes.
The slightest touch of the stabilising button and all becomes clear! Well made, although I hope the rubber coating will not go sticky after 10 years or so. For the price, the cost-cutting bag for holding them is a tight squeeze with the strap attached, and as for the cheap and nasty thin eye covers that aren’t even joined together…. Say no more! I would have given 5 stars if they has spent a couple of pence more on peripherals.

Brilliant for Astronomy
My increasing age has meant that viewing astronomy objects is very difficult with this power as any slight shaking blurs the image I see unless mounted on a tripod of some description. NOT WITH THESE. Focus on Saturn, press the button and the shaking blurry blob turns into the planet that I can see clearly, make out the rings and the direction they face. Unbelievable. If your an ageing astronomer and you haven’t got a pair of these, your missing out on so much. I read reviews that talked of lack of light through the 36 optics, NOT SO. The steadyness of the image means you can see so much more. Fantastic. I couldn’t rate these high enough.

Optics and IS superb, some shortfalls
I will not repeat the glowing reports by other contributors, sufficient to say comparing with non IS binoculars it was like night and day at 12x. I guess it was like comparing a good pair of noise cancelling earphones with standard earphones, a complete revelation ! Just want to add some reservations. When the eye piece rubber tubes are folded back for spectacle wearers, the eye piece caps can not be pushed over the folded rubber, rendering the binoculars unprotected at both ends. Too much hassle to unfold the rubber pieces each time to put on the caps. Also, the adjustment for eyes separation is quite awkward, it takes some getting use to, nothing like a centrally pivoted tubes. Lastly, for the price, the binoculars do not have a luxury finish feel, even considering that a lot of the cost must have gone to the IS. I had to return the binoculars because they came without the nylon case nor the case straps.

Expensive, but absolute quality
These binoculars are just amazing. The image stabilizing is beyond amazing. The sharpness and clarity of the image is fantastic. Great for nature and stargazing. I have watched so many passing satellites and space detritus sailing across the dark skies these past few weeks. Choose any dark part of the sky, look through these and press the magic button and suddenly there's a wealth of light that you just can't see with the naked eye. Yes, it's a lot of money for a pair of bins, but for me they're worth every penny.

I have had a pair of these version II of ...
I have had a pair of these version II of these binoculars for about twelve years and can report that the material surrounding most of the binocular's body has deteriorated to a black sticky substance. Not only does it make the binoculars difficult to handle without getting your clothing marked, but simply holding this degraded product is quite unpleasant. I would add that there is nothing wrong with the optics of the binoculars, but the amount of money I paid should have indemnified me against a substandard and presumably untried faux rubber material being used by Toshiba as I cannot see any way of remedying this major problem.

These binoculars are the best! The adjustments for clear vision & comfort are perfect. The most outstanding feature is the stabilizing button that keeps the view stable. We use these for bird watching & will be using them when we travel to Alaska and other trips.
