Very nice book
We bought this book as a Christmas gift for the young man that lives next door to us. He has a keen interest in arheology and he just loves this book.

Archaeology
This is a wonderful book with short summaries of many archaeologists over the centuries and of the sites where they worked and examples of what they found and why it was significant. It is designed for a person seeking general knowledge such as myself so I can get a clearer picture of what happened to the ancients, their achievements and what they left for us and the time periods when all this occurred. That is a most difficult extended history to streamline.

Be careful
Like other 500-page Lorenz encyclopedias, this one is a combination of 2 earlier 250-page books. One was by Catlin, the other was written by Paul Bahn.
