Miracle-GroMoisture Control Plant Food Gel 250g

Very quickly posted and arrived in good condition. The packet is re sealable so that's handy. Very easy to use and didn't push the plants out of the pot as some do. While we are away on holiday a family member calls to water my plants. They are not gardeners so not quite so fussy as I am. The plants held up very well though all this hot weather we have had and are still looking well. I'm more than happy with this product and I would highly recommend it.

Great for pot plants that should not dry out, particularly indoors both in the summer and during winter when the central heating is on and for those of us who occasionally forget! The crystals also help to keep house plants watered when you're away, although I've found it best to move them into a cool position, and plants that naturally take up a lot of water may still need to be watered by a friend or neighbour if you're away for more than 10 days.

This is a great product if you're too busy or away from home. A little goes a long way. Add several spoonfuls into a jug and then add water, the crystals will absorb the water over 5 minutes. After the crystals are plump place on top of the potting mix and near roots. The crystals will slowly release the water and shrink back to their original small size and can be reused again. I use these for my orchids, the crystals provide sufficient water for about 2.5 weeks from my experience.

I brought the gel as I was going on holiday and I didn't want my plants to wilt or die whilst I was away. I understand that you should mix it with the compost before you actually put your plants in the containers, however as my plants were already potted up I just put some around my containers and hanging baskets and on my return they were fine. The gel does go slimy so I just removed it when I returned. Next year I will use it whilst potting up because it also saves on watering as often in the hot weather.

Not use this yet this year tend to use this for our bedding plants. It does what it states on the packet retains moisture
