MijelloLidded Plastic Palette 24 AIRTIGHT

This watercolour palette is excellent. It is large with lots of sections to hold paint and a large area, plus the lid, the mix paint in. Best of all you can put the lid on at the end of painting and reuse it the next time. The lid prevents spills and keeps the paint well. Very happy with my purchase.

The media could not be loaded.  I bought this pallette as I use gouache and when it dries up, yes it can be rewet but it doesn’t work in the same way, so wanted to try and find a palette that keeps the colours wet. I also was wanting a palette where you didn’t store colours in the lid and also one with plenty of holes to put colours in.Well this ticks all the boxes! Yes it is quite a big palette but that might be a plus for some. From the video I put these colours/water in 2 days ago, and they are still as if I had just put them in! There are 21 small compartments (each approx 4x3cm 1.5cm deep getting shallower to the middle), 3 larger compartments (approx 6x4cm and same depth) plus a larger area in the middle for mixing and the lid can be used for extra mixing room. The clips feel tough and sturdy which is obviously what you want if you want it airtight! I can’t comment for oils/watercolours/acrylics but for gouache it has worked so far for me! Also it is quite costly and did seem a lot for just a palette but if it can prolong the longevity of your materials then I think it will be worth it :)

Really, Amazon, it's high time you stopped this rubbish practice of categorising professional painting accessories under toys and other non-relevant headings ! We expect better. There are now a great many professional artists' accessories available in your store - all scattered inconveniently across toys, household and other nonsense categories. Please classify them appropriately under a heading of their own - forthwith !The sample sent to me bore no resemblance to the illustration; it is completely rectangular. However, it is still a very serviceable item, although I would not use it for acrylic, as suggested under "technical details"; I bought it as a watercolour palette, for use with tube colours, and in fact, the cardboard box in which it came describes it as a "Fusion2433 artists watercolour palette", and it serves this purpose admirably. "Barghainartistshop" from whom I bought it need to upgrade their description. Mijello is a Korean company, claiming to use "Advanced product technology"; and their product is indeed far, far superior to a John Pike rip-off imitation I recently bought which was made in Switzerland.The plastic is generously thick and rigid, and the paint wells and mixing surfaces are highly glazed, and will resist staining better than cheaper plastic products which invariably stain very easily. The airtight seal is achieved by a rubberised insert running round the outside of the lid which connects with a corresponding ridge on the base. The closing catch is just adequate - I would prefer a more positive lock. As well as two small mixing areas in the base, surrounded by paint wells, the entire lid may be used for mixing - the mixing area itself being removable for washing. Although the box is rectangular, the inside corners are rounded to facilitate cleaning.This is a quality product, better than a great many metal watercolour boxes (many of which rust), and may even be the best of the plastic kind.

I have not used this extensively yet. I found the paint was still drying out but this was a thin layer. I put a sheet of clingfilm in before shutting the lid and will be interested to see if the paint left over a week ago is still usable. I like the large flat area in the centre for paint mixing with a knife. I think this would be excellent if you wanted to fill the wells more for a loaded palette/ project and keep the colours going.

Although this palette looks good it doesn’t do the job for me. I want to use it with acrylic paints. Unfortunately the seal is not good enough and all of the paint is hard and not usable when left overnight. This also means that if you tilt the palette it leaks.

I've used it for keeping in one place the colours extracted from old dried up hardened tubes of gouache and watercolours. The lid is handy, as is the large area for mixing colours.

The lid seals well and does keep watercolour moist and workable between sessions and transportable if necessary (provided liquid paint is wiped away first). My only two reservations relate to the mixing area. First of all the paint does tend to separate into multiple globules, and secondly, staining colours do permanently stain the plastic.

Portable, room for own paint set up. But you need a table.

Big and deep pockets, easy to mix color. I use the middle section to hold my paints, making everything easy to carry around.

Excellent quality, keeps what it says. The paints stay fresh nicely! Highly recommended!

El tamaño para lo que quiero: pintar en casa, es muy apropiado, cierra herméticamente y con el uso la pintura se queda expandida de forma que se ven las transparencias. Al ser semicircular puedes hacer el círculo cromático de fríos a calientes y mezclar En el mismo espacio.

Simply loved it. The acrylic paint dosent dry and stays moist.. Just use a simple brush and no need to scrub hard to get the paint off. Packing by art longue was excellent. Art longue always meets my expectations whether it's in the case of packing, delivery or quality of products.I googled a lot before deciding to buy mijello palette. One can easily make stay wet palettes at home too. But one should always remember to keep the towel wet or check the humid condition otherwise the paint may turn watery. Plus when u are on a colour mixing spree,space also can turn out to be a big problem esp with homemade stay wet pallets. In this product one can use the lid for mixing too thus providing lots of space to experiment while mixing colors.So I would recommend it .
