Buy Your Golden Retriever Puppy Month by Month: Everything You Need to Know at Each Stage to Ensure Your Cute and Playful Puppy Illustrated by Albert, Terry, Eldredge, Debra, Gunther, Alan (ISBN: 9781615648856) from desertcart's Book Store. Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: Wonderful - What a wonderful book. Easy to read and written in month by month steps so it will be easy to refer back to. Very very good advice, can't wait to start putting the training into practice. I have had dogs all my life (small dogs) but never a golden and i wanted to do more training this time... which I think he'll love, being a working breed. There are things such as using a crate that i have never done before, so that was very interesting to read. It's definitely not a book that drones on repeating the same thing, it's written in a way that keeps your attention. I would definitely recommend this book. Review: Everything you need to know - American book, which makes no difference because dogs behave the same the world over and reading in England. Great information throughout, well written. Just what you need to know about your new puppy. Excellent book, I throughly recommend.

An excellent book, absolutely crammed with information and tips
An excellent book, absolutely crammed with information and tips. There are none of the pretty pictures that fill up most dog books. The layout is unusual as it is month by month as the puppy grows with behaviour, training and advice for that age. This could make dipping into the book for specific questions difficult, but the index is good to help in this matter. The book is American so some things like qualifications for professionals and legal matters are different for UK readers. I am really pleased with it and I feel many aspects will still be useful when my puppy has grown up.

Well recommended
It's a great book for Golden Retriever puppy owners. It is a long time since I had a puppy and this book confirmed that the behaviour of my little chap was normal for his age. It is interesting to read a particular month and say 'yes, that's exactly what my dog is doing'. The only slight thing against this book is that it is American, so there are lots of references to the American Kennel Club and other American ways of life, like what to do if your dog is bit by a snake, or chases bears into the woods! But all in all as I said at the start a great book.

Highly recommended.
One stop shop for advice on raising and training your retriever from puppy to adulthood. Although we do get a lot of advice and tips online, this reference book is now a very well-thumbed source of information. Following the puppy’s development month by month really helps to let you know what to expect and how to deal with most potential problems along the way. Highly recommended.

THE VERY BEST puppy/dog guide book I have come across
THE VERY BEST puppy/dog guide book I have come across. No cute pictures but packed full of hints, tips and essential information about everything that is involved with getting a puppy and owning a dog. Easy to read all around guide to everything there's to know about this breed. Would recommend as a reference book to anyone interested in the retriever family.

Good advice but aimed at an american audience which made it quite annoying to read

All you need to know
Although written for the American owner, this book tells you everything you need to know about your Golden Retriever puppy’s development over each month. I’m only up to month 4 but it has been very useful so far.

Love this book. I'm couple days away from being a first time Golden Retriever owner and this book is really helpful to prepare for her arrival. Not done reading it, but since it's a month to month book, I'll have more than enough time to catch up.

Very detailed and lots of super helpful hints and tips. I felt that our Puppy is about six weeks ahead of the schedule outlined in the book but the fact I was able To recognize that by the description of behaviors shows that it’s an excellent book!
