zero waste product with multiple uses
The product came with a muslin clothed small bag, i used 4-5 nuts per wash, just put them in the small bag and put it in the washing machine with the dirty clothes. the nuts can be reused 4-5 times, then i would collect the old nuts, boiled them and used the water to wash my hair and add to bath. very natural and gentle on skin. then at the end, i would bury the nuts in the garden to add nutrient to soil, plant love it. so these are zero waste and environmental friendly product. i have been using the product all summer and they washed well, clothes looked clean and smell free. the grey water after using the soap nuts can also be used to water the garden, soap nut water protects plant from disease and bugs. overall this is a superb product and very good value of money, consider it has very long life cycle and everything goes back to the ground, nothing waste. i love it.

Thorough Non-biased review after 1.5 years usage
I first bought these September 2019 and just today (26/02/21) I need more. Family of 3 with 1 x child. I bought mainly for my dark colours, as the detergent always seems to leave a residue - probably because I mainly wash on low 30 Degree quick wash. I now use them for most of my washing needs. You do need to keep a tally of how many times you use them. We keep tally on a whiteboard. Pros: Environmentally friendly. Throw into the garden when finished and they rot down naturally. Cost effective - Can use just a handful five or 6 times. Last for absolutely ages. No smell/fragrance - I now add fragrance oils to a bottle of water and just use like fabric conditioner (That's another story!) Wash lightly soiled clothes really well without leaving a residue. Kinder on your washing machine. No cleaning the detergent drawer. Cons You will miss all the suds for a while until you get used to them. The little muslin bag is a buggar to untie but you'll learn not to knot it. Just tie tight. Do not forget to tie the bag. You'll have bits of the nuts throughout your wash. However, no where near as bad as a tissue, as the nuts easily shake off. You will miss your regular detergent smell and think your clothes aren't washing. These nuts DO NOT make your washing smell of anything. I've seen reviews saying they do. They don't!! Your washing will not smell of anything - period! I keep a litre bottle of water by the machine and add however many drops of fragrance oil (I buy Mystic moments but there are many more brands). Shake the bottle and add to the rince cycle in your detergent drawer. A real hit with no nasty chemicals.

Good product, prompt delivery
I have been trying to reduce the amount of chemicals that I use in my home and instead use natural products. I had read about the benefits of soap nuts for use in the washing machine, dishwasher, and for personal hair and skin care. They arrived within a week and were well packaged. They were bigger than I expected and are quite sticky. They come with a cloth bag that you can put them into in your washing machine. They don't smell all that wonderful, so I added some sweet orange essential oil to make it smell good. My clothes came out clean and smelled...OK, not as good as with washing liquid, but they're loaded with chemicals, so I'll take a less nice smell over that. You can use these soap nuts a few times, so they're very economical. Next I will be experimenting with washing my hair with it and making some dishwasher liquid. Overall, I'm happy with this product and will order again,

Great for hair washing!
I love soap nuts, I've been using them to wash my hair for the last two years now. My hair feels soft and silky, it never looks greasy ever, so now only wash every few days instead of nearly every day. I didn't use conditioner for some time, but have gone back to conditioning the ends (I have very long hair) as without conditioner, it got static when brushed (no knots though). I am still using washing powder for the washing machine. Fine for handwashing smalls, though really I just love them for my hair. Put half a dozen in a small cotton bag, put in boiling water, then when cool enough, keep squeezing, you'll get some satisfying lather. I make it fresh each time so it's just the right temp. I make about 2 inches deep in an old salad cream bottle, which has the squirty lid. It is watery, but you can still massage it through, just put on a bit at a time, instead of all at once. Highly recommended if you don't want chemicals on your head anymore. Update another two years on, now wash my hair just once a week, and if I miss a day due to early starts, my hair still looks fine. Four years from beginning, I wouldn't willingly use anything else for hair washing. I still put 6 nuts in a bag, and use it twice, a few times I've used it 3 times, but twice is better. Looking at my orders, I ordered from this supplier in March 19, then again March 21, now Feb 23, and could last until March, so very cost effective compared to commercial shampoo! My hair is so silky I'm so glad I discovered these natural nuts. Still don't use them in washing machine, as worried soap might damage the heating element. Many years ago, I used to grate and use up leftover ordinary commercial soap bars in my washing machine. Worked brilliantly cleaning clothes (bit like lux flakes). Eventually when the engineer came, he pointed out the element was nearly eaten away, and told me to stop grating soap. As these are soap nuts, I can't get past that, and don't dare experiment as it would potentially be too expensive to mend the washing machine? Love them for hair and handwashing though.
