Newlan 4 Ports USB Printer Share Switch Hub 1a4b-cf

The picture for this product confused me as it looked quite big and overcomplicated, but it turns out the picture shows both front and back of the product, and it is really only 1 'storey' high! We have 2 computers and wanted to share one printer and this does that perfectly. You have to sort out the right set of cables - one for each computer and one to the printer (neither supplied, probably because you may well already have some of them) It's solidly built and works a treat.

Worked perfectly for 5 days, but now when I switch usb ports I have to eject the usb cable on the chosen port number, and re-seat the usb cable, then it works

Works exactly as you'd expect, and the quality seems very good. The buttons feel clicky, tactile & durable. I use it to switch a printer between multiple computers when wifi is unavailable. It's been in daily use for a few months and it's still going strong.Mine doesn't have the printed design shown on the top in the picture, though the printing on other faces is the same.

Brilliant little cheap device. However, after almost a year, one of the ports stopped working, and now macOS and Linux is having problems with it (suddenly mouse/keyboard just locks up). For the price, I'm not too fussed though, and will happily buy another one.

Currently connecting Epson printer to three computers. Following any earlier reviewer's comments I always turn off the printer before changing the PC. No problems at all. Small and well made.

This is a mechanical switch. I use it for my webcam for privacy reasons: no software hack can access my camera when it is mechanically disconnected.It lacks a "don't connect to anything" button, but you can use one of the other buttons if you aren't using all four ports. It mechanically pops out the previous button when you press a new button, so you can also half-press a different button - hard enough to pop the previous button out, but hard not enough to engage the new one. This seems to work to disconnect all four, too.
