Hercules Microphone Stand (MH100B)

Simple, strong, flexible, this mic clip just works, and on a variety of mic sizes too. To be honest, they are the only ones I use now. Surely that says it all?

Excellent grip, particularly for slender mics that are tubular rather than cone shaped (currently using with an AKG D80). Also good to be able to position so the switch is easily accessible. All good.

you pay for quality and Hercules certainly delivers.I would recommend this make without hesitation as their products are much better quality than the competition.

The bit that holds the mic is excellent, firm and well-cushioned. It’s the other end that’s the write-off...I found the cunningly designed (?) gripping thing simply too unreliable. Sometimes it seems to work but often it fails to grip the screw-thread on the mic-stand. The supplier sent me a replacement that was no better. I ended up detaching the mic-holder from its ineffective other half and fitting it onto a conventional screw-thread attachment from an old shure mic-clip - ideal ! I’m surprised at the overall 4-star review rating which persuaded me to buy it. Perhaps I should have read them more closely as several of them note the fault I’ve just mentioned and typically blame their own lack of skill... before giving it a remarkable 3-stars. One fellow-reviewer rather neatly calls the problem an ‘innovative annoyance’ and wishes Hercules would simply revert to the conventional screw-thread attachment...I agree.
