My 6-year old Heatilator gas fireplace blower became weak, and would not change speeds—basically could only do “low speed.” Had to discern if it was the blower or the wireless remote receiver. Bypassed the wireless receiver by plugging the blower in directly to an outlet, and it still ran at a very low speed only. Ordered this unit, replaced the old one with this, which restored the fireplace’s full functionality. Same form, fit, function. It’s not the quietest at full speed, but no louder than the original. Easy and inexpensive fix to the problem.

Even though the fan is lighter than the original, it seems to push a lot of air, although as others have mentioned, a bit noisily. I too backed off on the speed to reduce the noise. Not sure how it only took others 5 minutes. Perhaps it is my builders grade fireplace but I had one heck of a time getting the old one out of the opening and even more fun getting the new one in. It was one contorted tight squeeze. Waiting until the new fan was inserted to put the adhesive pads on the housing likely would have helped a bit with the insert of the new fan. Also, the new housing screws in the front did not line up exactly but close enough that everything sort of moved into place when tightening. Hopefully it will be some time before I need to do this again. Got 17 years out of the original but it should have been changed about 7 years ago. It just got to the point that it was slow to start and the speed kept vacillating.

The part was not in original packaging and arrived with no information- no directions and no warranty provided. Nothing

I have a Lopi (Travis Industries) gas fireplace insert. This is the replacement for the OEM fan. I have replaced it about every 3-4 years. This fireplace heats our 2 story, 4bdr house just fine here in California. It's a very difficult install having to pull the insert out to gain access to the blower. I just turned it on an I honestly thought it was DEFECTIVE....IT IS THAT QUIET!! I still am in shock. It came with some sound deadening pads and I used them like big spongy washers for the mounting bolts. Very Happy!

I'm sure this blower will work fine for our 1984 Heatilator fireplace insert. It was kind of a tight fight but fits fine. One thing though, it does not come with a power cord, this, a replacement blower only. Comes with the foam sticky pads to eliminate any vibration noises. Our insert didn't have a blower even though it's hit an outlet for one that's not wired. So I have to run to the hardware store for spade connectors, I already have a sufficient cord to utilize for this. Should work fine once I get it wired. Just want a heads up that they do not supply the power cord. Z
