How do I get the 32oz pump to operate?

The pump of the shampoo is in the "locked" position so that it doesn't leak during shipment. Press down on the top portion of the pump and turn it so that it will release.

Does this shampoo help promote growth in thinning hair?

This shampoo is infused with anti-oxidant rich Argan Oil that has many haircare benefits including: helps to lock in moisture, restore luster and shine. Argan Oil is easily absorbed by the hair shaft for deep conditioning and aids in de-tangling. It will help hair's manageability.

The shampoo I received has a jelly like texture and my previous bottle does not. Does the texture indicate it has expired?

I'm sorry, I don't know. All I can say is this shampoo has a different texture (thinner) than any I've used before but it still works well. It would take years for a shampoo to "expire" so I'd still use it.
