The Vintage Invitation XV Rugger. A vintage inspired black Rugby jersey with white hoop. Featured on the rugger is skull and crossbones crest as well as additional detailed embroidery on the crest. Also featured on the jersey is herringbone finish on the vents and velvet tape on the neck opening. The 1800s saw the creation of invitation rugby teams. William Percy Carpmael, had been part of the Cambridge team which had undertaken a tour of Yorkshire in 1884. Inspired by the culture behind short rugby tours he organised his first tour in 1889, which was followed by an 1890 tour with an invitational team calling themselves the Southern Nomads. This was the original Invitation XV. This Rugby Jersey is manufactured from satin touch 100% Cotton and features detailed embroidery on the crest. Also included on this garment is herringbone finish on the vents and velvet tape on the neck opening. Subtle Ellis Rugby branding also appears on the back of the jersey in the form of detailed embroidery. In addition the Ellis Rugby logo is included on the jersey on the arm.
