Brilliant
This is a brilliant spade, it cuts through the most stubborn roots like a hot knife through butter! This is no lightweight , which is why it works so well and why i skipped the lightweight stars!! I suspect it will outlast me as its built so well!!

Excellent Product
Read the reviews prior to buying and some indicated that the handle bent during use. I can only say I have found the fencing grafter an excellent product. It helped to read the reviews because then I did not go like a 'bull at a gate' trying to dig out a two foot deep hole. I carefully chiselled, hammered and levered out the previous concrete footings until I reached soil then used the grafter to dig out the hole. Remember, it is a spade not a crowbar. It worked really well for me and I am very pleased with the result. Now a handy tool to have that I can use again.

Perfect
Sturdy product, came well packaged. Great help when digging for a fence post. Not too heavy but enough for it to be sturdy

This is excellent and very well built
I am a professional landscaper and have used many pole spades over the years. This is excellent and very well built. If you try and lever out a massive rock or something in your post hole, it will bend, but this is not a criticism of the tool as it is not designed to do this!.If you need to lever something out, use a bar. Having said that, I put it through its paces and found it to be very durable and well made. Absolutely spot on.

Really good post shovel
I was thinking of getting a different tool(post hole digger)for digging posts and glad I bought this shovel instead. Not only was it easy to dig holes for posts I even used it for loads of roots and some small tree trunks. Dont hesitate and buy this great tool and well made.

I bought this item to dig a hole deep enough to keep the pole bird feeder in place and stop it continually falling over. Firstly I find the item far too heavy to use. I chose this style because I wanted to be able to push it into the ground using my foot. Unlike other customers I found the instant it hit any kind of loose stones it ground to a halt making it no easier to use than it would have been on my hands and knees with a garden trowel. No tree roots or hedging anywhere near the location I was using it. Attempted to dig the hole in the middle of a large expanse of lawn but had no success at all and was forced to abandon the task half way through. If it was that hard to dig a hole for a bird feeder I can't imagine what kind of strength would be required to dig in a fence post and if it won't tolerate small stones in a lawn I dread to think what it might be like anywhere near tree roots. So in my view, if you're strong enough to wield this thing and are able to drive it into the ground with force perhaps it will work, but for my purposes it was an expensive disappointment.

What a tool!
Was sceptical at first as looked cumbersome and thought would be uncomfortable to use. I'd need not have doubted this tool. Fire in the grafter and you'll be breaking into that hole or trench with ease. Have used this on many jobs and had worked well. It doesn't want to take great leverage as can feel it trying to bend but for going down and widening holes it'll serve you well. Used in conjunction with a breaker bar and post hole digger. Nice narrow blade for whacking into tight spaces. 'Send in the grafter'! As long as I don't over lever it and I use braker bars when in rock or concrete this should last for years. ๐

Great item
Good product but will only last couple of years as the shaft at head will weaken eventually
