Can I use them for pike fishing at the river?

Not really. They are for sea fishing and in rivers I would only use one lure not a string.

Can u use them off the pier

Hi yes you can cas them with a weight on the bottom Thx

do you think they will work well for pollack?

Yes shad work great for pollock from the boat that's where I use them i use squid and rag/lug from rocks never tried the shad from rocks but think they would work on same principle from boat as we fish them from long dropper from main line so they are really just floating about. Hope this info helps
