An alternative to the computer, a pleasant educational surprise
I didn’t think our daughter would enjoy this as much as she does. She works on it for almost 2 hours straight. It’s a very engaging manipulative toy that teaches while playing. It’s much more relaxing than I thought it would be.The game tells you where to put the first three pieces and then (leaving those pieces where they are), you must find out how to fit all the other pieces on the board. Once you get the hang of it, there are quite a few different playing modes. It’s not a very large investment in something that could teach your child how to concentrate -- I recommend trying it. We’re leaving this out on the table for easy access and frequent use. It takes three AA batteries.

Well made game
This is a fun little game designed to help people develop spacial reasoning. It’s well built with fun colors and sounds. The box is a will built storage container.

My step daughter loves to play these type of games
The media could not be loaded. This will be a nice Christmas present for my step daughter who loves games. It looks fun and I can’t wait for her to play with it.

Nicely constructed. Good for car.
I really liked the hardware build of this product. The unit itself feels sturdy. The pieces have a pleasant textured coloring and sit securely on the grid-like board. This is good for the car as the pieces won't slide around. The game comes with a mesh bag to hold the pieces (again, good for the car). The game itself is rather difficult. As an adult engineer, I spent a while on just puzzle #1. I suspect it may get a little easier as you become familiar with the basic strategies, but this isn't simple. The given age of 7+ seems a realistic minimum, but I can see many people getting frustrated at the difficulty. The game does have some electronic sounds, but they're not too offensive. There's a sound when the game is turned on/off, and a sound when switching puzzles. If using timer-mode, there's a sound when the timer is stopped. The electronics are necessary to show the puzzle requirements. As much as I like the hardware, the instruction manual is bad. It starts off with 5 pages of general nonsense about early childhood development. The board is referred to as a "chess board" (and elsewhere as a "checkerboard") and the blocks are referred to as "chess pieces". I found this statement especially baffling: "The color box adopts the style of heaven and earth cover, which has the function of storage and storage, so as to avoid the loss of chess pieces."There are stickers (which aren't really needed) in order to label the main part of the board (columns A-H and rows 1-8). These labels are printed for the screen section, but the stickers are needed for the board section. These stickers aren't mentioned in the manual at all. I would have preferred if this was just printed on the hardware rather than as an add-on sticker.Puzzles are numbered 1-500. It took me a while to realize that the flashing numbers were the puzzle number. Example: 500 will flash 5 - 0 - 0.

Challenging and could be fun but needs much better (clearer) operational instructions
We actually attempted to use this (unlike a lot of reviews I read where it was clearly just opened and looked at). The instructions for use have obviously been translated to very unclear English…there are no clear indications of what the beeps (or “sounds” as the instructions read) actually mean. For instance, it says that there’s a maximum of “600 seconds” or (10 minutes) before the final “sound” when it shuts down, indicating you’ve failed…we spent nearly 15 minutes on one attempt. When you press the “switch” key (which we assume means the “s” key at the top of the orange button) after completing the puzzle, a number (or numbers) pop up on the screen…are these minutes…or the level…or the score? Why are there different labels at the top and bottom of each of the three buttons (letters at the tops of all three and arrows at the bottom of the second two)? Are you supposed to press the top or bottom only…and if so, what do each of the labels mean? It’s like this is a recreation of an already existing product but the instructions were VERY poorly written/translated so you already have to know how it works (to actually get any real enjoyment out of it anyway). Look, I get the concept…you place obstacle/challenge pieces on the board as indicated and then fill in the rest of the board with the remaining pieces (we did this at least a dozen times at varying speeds). The problem is that there’s no real reward if you don’t know what to press when you’re finished and/or don’t know what the sounds and on-screen numbers mean…since the instructions don’t clearly explain any of this, it might as well be left turned off.

Really difficult
If you're looking for a difficult visual challenge, this is it! Some of these were solvable within 5-10 minutes. Others were so difficult, we never could figure them out. I was surprised how difficult these were—definitely for the more experienced, more patient, and more persistent puzzler. It was very satisfying to solve such difficult puzzles. But I think we only solved 3 or 4 in over an hour... and this was with 4 sets of eyes on them: one of them very experienced at visual puzzles and another a confirmed genius.
