I had a water leak from the apartment above, long story short, once the leak was repaired I had quotes for £1764 to repair the damage, (new plasterboard , skim and paint).Biggest problem was this happened two weeks before Christmas and with the holidays it was looking like the new year before my insurance company could do anything and both plasterer and painter said it would be a few weeks before they could fit me in so it looked like taking a couple of months by the time it would be dried out and repaired.So I cut 10 x 4" holes in the ceiling to allow it to dry out and cut out a section of plasterboard that had been destroyed, approximately 12" x 24".Two weeks with two dehumidifiers running and once they stopped pulling water out I fitted timber above all the holes and then screwed new plasterboard onto the timber, all holes contersunk and plasterboard edges chamfered.Then had at it with the Red Devil, applied with a plasterers float and let it dry, then a quick sand with a long sanding block ,( 24" of flat board with sandpaper stapled onto it ) and a final light fill.Areas of paint had came away leaving bare plaster on the walls required a very thin skimming of Red Devil , again a base layer of filler was sanded with a long sanding block and a final light fill to leave a perfect smooth surface.Everything was painted with two coats of stain block and then two coats of emulsion.Absolutely no sign that there was ever any damage and all sorted in just over three weeks, not the best way to fix this sort of problem but a real life saver and just shows what it can do in an extreme case, I can't recommend this filler enough.

Personally I love this product. This is my 3rd one 1) doesn't dry out too quick in the pot. 2) no need to add activator, can use the product without any mixing, convenient 3) no need to sand and can paint over it with wall paint / wood paint, although need to make sure it is dry, I usually wait over 24 hours. 3) it can use indoor and outdoor. I use it on my front garden wall, when the paint always flakey after heavy rain. But after start using this filler, then weather resistant door paint, i no longer have flakey wall . I have tried many different brand filler, this is the one I love the most. Only the drying time not as fast as others (usually 24 hours depending the thickness of the application, I have used it to fill a few old phone cable size hole, they were on my skirting boards, but now you won't notice them at all, nice and smooth). I really like the quality of this.

Filling walls

This is an expensive product that never truly hardens.There are many ready mixed fillers that are considerably less expensive.It should not be necessary to overfill Red Devil as I have had to do with far cheaper products.

I am struggling to see how this product got any good reviews. It took weeks to go off and sometimes never went off (hard). I had to remove it and refill the holds with a far cheaper filler that went off overnight and could be painted the next day. This stuff is a total waste of time as a filler.
