SIMPLIFIRE30-Inch Electric Fireplace Insert, Small Black Surround, 40" x 27" (SF-INS30-SF-SI4027-INS30)

I had estimates of close to $4,000 for a professionally installed electric insert to replace our old dated and dangerous gas fireplace. I decided to do it myself and chose This 30" insert that fit perfectly inside the old gas opening. Gutted the old gas out and this fit perfectly.I was worried when I ordered it that the large surround wasn't 4 sided and I contacted the seller directly and they told me it didn't. It was in fact the large 4 sided.Overall easy to install and it looks great. Much better quality than what I was expecting.

We actually have a wood burning fireplace, but wanted an electric one in another room. We built our own surround and used a stone veneer to finish it off. I have to say I was a little worried how realistic this would look and wow were we surprised. It looks great and VERY realistic. We couldn’t be happier!! Heat is wonderful!! Well worth the money. Picture is before we added stone.

Great look of a log fire. It was easy to install with no hidden problems. The heater is definitely adequate in a 16’x18’ room and the remote control is easy to use.

Appearance is great , but does not put out enough heat

Our house was built in the 1920's and has 3 wood burning fireplaces. We wanted to convert one room which is often cold in the winter to an easier solution and discovered the Simplifire.I was at first skeptical but after an easy installation, I discovered that it puts out plenty of heat for the room and it looks great. Highly recommend!
