Goodmans Portable Digital/DAB & FM RDS Radio Mains and AA Battery Powered with Headphone Socket in Steel

Update Dec 2019:Only two years later the radio has broken. Now won't connect to DAB. Not at all. FM now won't work also. Not worth it for it to break after two years.Bought for kitchen. Feels weighty and well made considering it's made of plastic, finish looks surprisingly high quality, like metal. I live in a concrete-made building and often devices have real trouble picking up signals but it found all the stations quickly. Bought as it can be used with batteries or mains. Sound quality is great for a little radio and isn't demished when volume is turned up.

I am so impressed with this little radio. It has surpassed my expectations in every way. I bought it as a lowly bathroom radio, but its sound is so much superior to the Bush retro radio in my kitchen. I can't swap them because the Bush is mains only.The buttons give a positive click, and for the price, I can't fault it.Quick update. I now have three of these around the house, two running on rechargeable batteries and the third on mains in my workshop. All three operating perfectly.

During set up and first use of this, I found the sound to be good, easy to use and you get what you pay for. Turned it off for 1st time and came back half an hour later to no sound, found DAB stations OK but lost FM ones. Despite following troubleshooting items the sound stayed off. Returned straight away. Shame, it had been promising.

The media could not be loaded.  Extremely poor quality radio. It actually arrived not working. I read and Re-read and followed the simple instructions to no avail! I tried for over a period of 5 days because I do not like returning goods. I choose purchases very carefully. This one is a big disappointment especially as the name “Goodmans” I was aware of.The only thing positive about this purchase was that it arrived quickly, on time.

Only seem to receive one of the Smooth radio stations for some reason -but maybe that's related to where I live. Good sound quality for the size. Display is a little small for my liking. The housing is somewhat bulbous in shape at the back.On the whole though, I am pleased with the purchase.It is now a year later, and I have to knock a star off - like all digital radios, this eats batteries. Also, it forgets all the preset channels every time you replace the batteries - which is a tad inconvenient.

I wanted a small DAB radio for my mother, it was a Christmas present. She tried to use it, for the first time, a couple of days after Christmas and although the lights worked there was no sound on any of the channels. I am awaiting instructions for returning this radio to the supplier.

Nice radio. However, not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but I have it on the digital channel and I thought if another digital radio was playing in another room, there wouldn't be a time difference like there was on the analogue radio? I think the time difference is only a couple of seconds, but it;s annoying when you move from room to room and you;re either catching up or being left behind! Ha ha!

Cheap and tacky, lousy reception, poor design and horrid display are what you'll buy if you want to waste money on this Goodman Radio. Amazon has many more radios to choose from including the wonderful little replacement for less money which I subsequently purchased. Check for i-Star.
