WWE Wrestlemania 21 - Wrestlemania Goes Hollywood!
Starting off the "superbowl" of sports entertainment is Eddie Gurrero Vs Rey Mysterio. This is a great quality match put on by 2 good friends who have a great chemistry together in the ring.Next up is the 6 man "money in the bank" ladder match the winner getting a world title shot any time in the next year expriring and Wrestlemania 22! This is actually a very good match with Benoit, Edge, Kane, Christian and Jericho all giving great performances and hitting high inpact moves. But the highlight is some of the best athletism I've ever seen from Shelton Benjamin. Now it's time for Legend Vs Legend Killer Randy Orton taking on The Undertaker. I thought this might be one of those potentially great matches that doesn't live up to the hype... Wrong!!! It's absolutely brilliant and is outshone only by one other match in the evening.Next came Trish Stratus defending her women's title against diva search winner Christy Hemme. I love this match because I love any excuse to see the spunky lil red-headed fireball Christy. She's absolutely gorgous. But it's a nice solid effort. Considering it was Christy's first in-ring pay-per-view performance. She pulls off somne good moves and Trish's work effort as usual is solid as ever.Shawn Michaels Vs Kurt Angle - Words do not do this match justice!!! It is by far the very best match of the night and one of the best matces I've seen in my life and I would say a contender for best Wrestlemania match ever and that's saying a lot considering how many fantastic performances therre have been at this event! It's got everything from chain wrestling to brawling, high flying to grounded attacks. Trust me if they ever release a "best of Wrestlemania" dvd this beauty will most definately be in there with Hogan Vs Andre the Giant, Rock/Austin and the first ever ladder match and Iron man match (again both with Shawn Michaels - no wonder he's calling himself Mr Wrestlemania!)The next match was really wierd but fun to watch. A sumon match pitting Bigshow up against Akebono a pro sumo wrestler. It's short and sweet but a little thing different just to shake up the evening and I love when they do that.Next up main even number 1 JBL Vs John Cena for the WWE title. Cena is fast becoming a huge superstar. The pops he's getting at the moment as champion are somewhat reminicent of the pops that Austin and Rock got in their heyday and that is phenominal. But, this match is a lil dissapointing. We know JBL can go in the last 7 ppvs as champ he's proved it. And the match Cena won to become the number 1 contender against Kurt Angle was one hell of a war. Yet on the grandaddy of them all they couldn't pull it out. It was a decent quality match and would've been more than enough for a No Way Out or Vengeance. But this is Wrestlemania baby!!!!Last but not least world title time. Batista who much like Cena is growing so much as a performer Vs Triple H. The best in the game at this present stage. This was a really good match but they would go on to have a better match inside Hell in a Cell at Vengeance in June! But still a good result with Batista becoming champ for the first time in his career and finally breaking free of Evolution. Also entertainment from in ring appearances but not actual matches from Eugene Muhammed Hassan Hulk Hogan and a special addition of Pipers Pit with special guest Stonecold Steve Austin. And, ofcourse a few more of the film parody wrestlemania ads (my favourites are the Basic Instict parody The Braveheart parody and the Taxi Driver parody!)which are all available on the extra features of the DVD along with the Hall Of Fame ceromony in it's entirety. The only complaint I have about Wrestlemania 21 is that there wqas no Playboy Evening Gown match! I was kinda hoping they'd make that an annual thing! In Jerry "The King" Lawler style I'll just say it would've been a slobberknocker - I'd provide the slobber and they'd provide the...Well you get the rest! Buy this! If for only one reason then for the HBK/Angle match!!!!

WrestleMania 21 Goes Hollywood
Held on April 3rd 2005, this was the first time in history that WWE didn't have a PPV in March.WrestleMania actually felt like WrestleMania, with many memorable moments throughout the 4 hour Pay Per View.Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey MysterioThis was a good match to start of WrestleMania, and is a lot faster than the Cena vs. Big Show match at WrestleMania XX. The crowd loved Eddie, and were on their feet trying to get him back up after he missed a Frog Splash. Mysterio was like lightning as usual, and is really improving. Mysterio hit the 619 on his tag team partner but Eddie held on when the West Coast Pop pin was about to occur, landing Mysterio in a great powerbomb that could have ended the match. However, Mysterio fought back and eventually rolled Eddie up for the pin.Winner: Rey Mysterio7/10First Ever 'Money In The Bank' Ladder MatchChristian vs. Benjamin vs. Edge vs. Jericho vs. Kane vs. BenoitAn amazing match, with Edge, Benoit and Jericho once again pitted against each other (New Year's Revolution). Kane attacked everyone before he even got in the ring, and it would have been great to see him finally win a WrestleMania match. Benoit gave his usual high-quality performance, performing a massive suicidal Diving Headbutt off of the Ladder on to Kane, busting his head wide open. Benjamin performed some great athletic moves, but he has held the I.C. title for too long now; Orton was named Legend Killer, with the longest I.C. reign in a decade before Benjamin became champion. Benoit was unhooking the briefcase from the strap before Edge battered Benoit;s arm with a Steel Chair, allowing him to climb to the top and win the match.Winner: Edge10/10Legend vs. Legend Killer MatchUndertaker vs. Randy OrtonThis was possibly both men's greatest match of 2004/2005 (with exception to Orton's match at SummerSlam 2004). Orton had a massive list of defeated Legends including Mick Foley, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels and RVD; Undertaker had a 12-0 record at WrestleMania. Somebody was going to lose a record, and Orton just couldn't end the Deadman's reign at WrestleMania. Bob Orton Jr. got involved and hit Undertaker with the Legendary cast, Orton reversed the Chokeslam and planted an RKO, and still Undertaker kicked out. The Legend Killer came so close to ending the Phenom's reign but when he attempted the Tombstone you knew he wouldn't be able to make it. Undertaker dropped over Orton's back during the Tombstone and lifted the 3rd Generation Superstar into the official Tombstone. Orton should have been victorious, because he is the Legend Killer, but therir feud will continue in July at the Great American Bash.Winner: Undertaker10/10Women's Championship MatchTrish Stratus vs. ChristyWith Lita at ringside, Christy could have actually defeated Trish, but after surviving the Extreme Twist of Fate the 6-time Women's champion landed the Chick Kick and covered the new Diva for the cover.Winner: Trish Stratus4/10Dream MatchShawn Michaels vs. Kurt AngleAfter eliminating Angle from the Rumble, I thougtht this grudge would continue. Michaels was almost German Suplexed through the announcer's table but he held on and delivered a sharp low blow to the Olympic Champion. After a heavy brawl outside the ring, Angle performed the Angle Slam onto HBK right into the Steel Post. HBK then fought back, pushing Angle onto the announcer's table and giving him a high-flying Springboard Cross Body. Angle landed the Angle Slam after dodging the Sweet Chin Music, but 'Mr. WrestleMania' kicked out. Angle then landed a Super Angle Slam off of the top rope, but HBK still kicked out. Michaels planted his musical Superkick onto SmackDown!'s Olympic Hero, but he kicked out. The 'Showstopper' finally tapped out at the 30 minute mark, after suffering from the Angle Lock for 3 and a half minutes. HBK did later get one over on Angle at Vengeance 2005, but hopefully these two great superstars will continue to wage war.Winner: Kurt Angle9/10Piper's Pit w/ Stone ColdA good extra to go with the great Mania matches, with two Legends bad mouthing each other. 'Rowdy' starts asking the fans why they are chanting 'What?' at the end of each phrase, like they did for Austin when he wrestled. Carlito comes down, and explains that Austin and Roddy aren't 'Cool', but Piper steals his apple and spits it in his face. Carlito jumps Piper, but Stone Cold starts stomping him before whipping him over to Piper for the dirty eye poke. Austin delivers a classic Stunner and the two celebrate with a couple of beers. Austin then completes the 'show' by Stunnering Piper.8/10Sumo MatchBig Show vs. AkebonoThe match itself wasn't all that bad, but it took to long to get started and was extremely short. Big Show should have Showstoppered the Sumo champion out of the arena but instead Akebono reversed the momentum and tossed him out. The two showed respect afterwards, which is always a good sign.Winner: Akebono4/10WWE Championship MatchJBL vs. John CenaWhy don't people like this match? It was short, but it marked the end of JBK's reign. JBL was a great champion for the past 9 months but he couldn't keep the title at WrestleMania. Cena did put up a fight and JBL almost looked like he was going to nail his Clothesline from Hell. Cena performed his trademarked Spinout Powerbomb, the 5 Knuckle Shuffle, and ended the match with a classic FU. Cena's new music blared out and he celebrated with the fans for his new reign as WWE champion. His rematch at Judgment Day was nowhere near as good, but the Triple Threat against Christian and Jericho at Vengeance 2005 was just as good (probably better).Winner: John Cena8/10MAIN EVENT: World Heavyweight Championship MatchTriple H vs. BatistaNot the best match that these two have had, but Batista is new to the big matches and he gave it his best. The 'Beast' was not exactly unleashed until Vengeance 2005 inside the Hell-in-a-Cell, but Dave Batista ended Triple H's 10th World title reign. Both of these men are great superstars, but after watching the Angle vs. Michaels and the Legend vs. Legend Killer matches, the match doesn't seem anywhere near as good. Batista landed several Spinebusters, powered out of the Pedigree and landed an amazing backwards Powerslam. 'The Animal' ended the match with the Batista Bomb and the 1,2,3. Triple H was screwed out of the title in their Backlash rematch, but they would have a lot better match inside the Hell-in-a-Cell when Triple H's record of undefeated victories came to an end.Winner: Batista

WRESTLEMANIA 21 GOES HOLLYWOOD
WWE WRESTLEMANIA 21 definitely hits the spot in being one of the greatest WRESTLEMANIA'S of all time with a huge selection of impressive & outstanding matches from both RAW & SMACKDOWN.The one match that really took the spotlight was the special match up built up really well between Kurt Angle & Shawn Michaels, who to be honest both showed on how great they are when it comes to WRESTLEMANIA.Both John Cena & Batista captured championship glory as John Cena defeated John Bradshaw Layfield to become WWE Champion, whilst Batista dethroned Triple H to become World Heavyweight Champion. We witness the legend killer in Randy Orton taking on the Undertaker In the first of many matches linking up to their 2005 rivalry, where this match has one of those endings that has you out of your seat.Get to witness the first ever Money in the Bank ladder match which is not be missed comprising of Edge, Christian & Chris Jericho to just name a few of the participants.Plus on a more sadder note on witnessing the last WRESTLEMANIA match for the late, great EDDIE GUERERRO as he takes on his friend Rey Mysterio which opens up the show to a great start. RIP EDDIE.

Shawn Michaels vs. Kurt Angle (8/10):Zwei Weltklasse-Wrestler treffen aufeinander. Ein gnadenloses Match, das gut unterhält.Big Show vs. Akebono (2/10):Kein Wrestling-Match, sondern ein Sumo-Match.
