good value for money
a bargain at under £3 (preowned including postage and packaging) from amazon. easily the best game so far in my xbox 360 non-kinect (play with standard controller) collection. okay, as one of the previous reviewers quite rightly said, perhaps the 'normal' level for the computer-controlled opponents is a bit too easy, but it's still good 'stress relief' anyway. i just imagine the computer-controlled opponents as the boss in one of my previous jobs lol :D. the best option is the 'wwe universe' section which enables you to play an entire wwe program or season. during it, you can even tailor the matches to how you want using the 'match creator' before each match :D. i occasionally choose 'two on two' and control kelly kelly partnered by a computer-controlled beth phoenix (what a great tagteam they were in real-life). i then pick a randomly selected computer-controlled tagmteam and then choose an 'ironman' match lasting 30 minutes, very addictive. whether you do it like that or just choose the 'standard matches' without changing them on the 'wwe universe' section, this game should keep you entertained for several hours at a time. minor flaws include the controls, especially the ones in the tlc matches, being at 1st perhaps difficult to learn (be patient and you will get used to them :D ) and only a limited amount of divas (female wrestlers) to choose from at the start when you 1st begin playing (though you can unlock some more as you progress through the wwe universe season). nit-picking aside, still highly recommended

WWE Letdown 2011
I am a big fan of all things WWE. I have been to shows, met wreslters, the lot. I think you get my drift. I already had WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2010, so was eagering looking forward to 2011. All I can say is: what a letdown. This game is the worst WWE game I have ever played; believe me I've played some bad ones. What I can't understand is: if it isn't broken, why fix it? I loved 2010's gameplay, it was what I wanted. So my question is then: Why did the developers change the control settings? And if you did, why didn't you have 2010's controls in the options menu. That would have saved the game for me but alas, it was too late. I got this game today, played about 40 minutes of it and now I want to give it back or trade it in. 2010 is far superior. The WWE Universe thing is stupid. One thing I loved about the 2010 game is that anyone could challenge for any belt. You can't do that here. Man was I letdown when I found that out. The game developers of this game should get a Tombstone for the big time mistakes that they made. Awful. One star does not do this game justice.

Time for the retirement home?
I have always been a fan of Wrestling games and adored the PS2 Smackdown games. Although I'm getting a little fed up with the latest generation games though..It always seems that for all the good things Yukes & THQ add to the games they ruin 2 or three things. It seems to have been like this since its first appearance on the Xbox 360. Unfortunatly Smackdown Vs Raw 2011 follows the same pattern.Good points:-The WWE Universe mode is a fantastic idea. It captures the idea of friendships and rivalries really well. You can build up rivalries through exhibition matches and this can lead to you having your matches interupted by your enemy.. which mirrors the shows really well. The Create modes are unrivalled by any other game. Although not perfect they are streets ahead of anything else around. The things you can edit for any wrestler is amazing. Plus you can download other people's creations online which is a great option, as there are some fantastic wrestlers out there.A physics engine has been added which is much better.Bad Points:-The graphics don't seem to have progressed since the last 3/4 years. The wrestlers look like dolls rather than people. Some wrestlers look nothing like their real-life counterparts (ie Stone Cold). The colours are not realistic. The graphics are grainy and in matches the textures are very poor & muddy. The collision detection is poor.. as usual. The wrestlers and the action are very sluggish and lethargic - unlike the real matches on TV. If wrestling was like a Smackdown Vs Raw 2011/10/09 matches nobody would watch it as they would be very boring. The Road to Wrestlemania mode is so boring. The backstage section to this mode is appalling and looks like it was added in a half-arsed last-minute attempt to add a feature. I completed one story and will never touch the mode again as I was so bored and frustrated at this mode. The amount of music on the disc seems to have gone down this year. The create a wrestler features don't seem to have changed significantly this year either.SummaryExactly the same as last year... and the year before. New great things added. Old great things removed. Some new half-arsed things added. Old half-arsed things kept. All chugging along on a archaic graphics engine with the true WWE atmosphere lacking.I'd like to say that i'm optimistic for next year's game and that it will be so much better than this one... but I won't and neither will it. :-(Rent it!
