The use the standard RF433 frequency and are fairly easy to control with an RF module and an Arduino
Clever solution to a common issue. I invested in a number of the energy Egg products while they were on offer ~£10. So far i have them deployed in my home office, living room and bedrooms. As an example use case In my office I have all my monitors and non critical devices connected so if i leave the office for more than 20 mins or the night I know everything will just turn off. But walk back in after lunch and monitors etc spring back to life. From a safety standpoint example I also sometimes use a Hot Glue gun and soldering iron these are both connected via the EGG sockets as well so can be sure that if left unattended these will also be powered off from the socket side by the EGG on a set timeout. so no more finding out that soldering iron been left on overnight or for hours at a time. For the DIY makers out among us I have played around with RF side of these devices. The use the standard RF433 frequency and are fairly easy to control with an RF module and an Arduino.

Good concept but faulty
Good concept but i've had to send it back as faulty. When it works its good but I had to factory reset it so many times as the egg wouldn't switch the powerbank. Finally the powerbank override button wouldn't even switch the appliances, i could hear the click, see the light go on/off but the appliance state wouldn't change. Only lasted two months and in that time had more issues with it than its worth.

Very useful PIR power strip combo.
I love theses energy egg devices, this one especially. With this power strip you don't need an extra extension lead, plus you gain a socket as there are two non-switched sockets as well as the switched sockets.

Frustrating, but it does actually work.
These work great once they're set up, but man the instructions are awful and the user interface just makes you wonder why anyone would do it this way.And why would I want some of the connections to not be controlled by the sensor? I have dozens of routine sockets all over the house for that.

Five Stars
Using it to turn off the TV when everyone leaves the room and forget to turn it off.

Absolutely disappointing
One month in and this thing does not work. You can buy it but it is a game of chance. I advise caution when buying this. Be prepared for a total loss.
