Russell Hobbs TR9250BKR 4-Slice Toaster, Black

When redoing our kitchen years ago I designed two cubby spaces for small appliances. One was the perfect size for my ancient toaster oven. Unfortunately it died and I soon realized that all toaster ovens were now super sized and only the cheapest toaster ovens would now fit. I then embarked on a 15 year quest to find something to fit my needs and the space. I think I finally found it.Pros:-It toastes well, which seems to be the minimum requirements.-The warming rack actually works really well for heating up breakfast pastries. It never over crisps them like toaster ovens can or makes them too soft like a microwave. My husband has warmed up pizza on it, even when I told him not to for fear of cheese dropped down.-The bagel setting and frozen items do well it in.-It looks awesome. (I have the black one.)-I like knowing how long until toast is done.-It is pricy, but cheaper than other high end toasters.Cons:-Then placement of the controls on the side is not ideal, especial since I have it in a small space. But the you can quickly figure out where to move the slide nob to get the toast to the right shade without looking at the actually number. It's sort of how I know where to turn the nob to get the right shower temperature.-You can't control the doneness on the pairs of slots separately. But you can't in a toaster oven either.-It does not have the functionality of a toaster oven. But once my kids got to the age that I wasn't making dinasour chicken nuggets & mini pizzas for them I found that I just needed them toaster to toast and heat up pastries.

Amazing retro style with excellent functionality. Made from great materials it feels solid not cheap. Four slots saves time with family and guests. We actually use the warming rack, it works for rolls, buns and left over baked goods. It's easy to clean and looks good sitting on the counter. The controls are easy to use and work better than previous toasters I've had. A bonus feature is the timer on the front of the unit. You can see how long it will take for your slice to be done. The timer adjusts as you change the setting even while your bread is already toasting, plus it just looks cool. Very glad I bought my Russell Hobbs toaster.

Great toaster! This is the best toaster I have seen since I was a young boy. My Grand Parents had a toaster that lasted from around 1955 to 1986. This one appears to be of good quality also. The features are Nice. The Heat control is easy to select and has a good feel to it. The toasting timer is nice too. The cleaning trays are easy to remove. I like the warming rack. You can lift up the bread for inspection without interrupting the heat cycle. I It also has a Bagel setting. It’s well worth the price. Chester Plaiss, Aurora IN.

Love this. Its so easy and makes perfect toast. The heating rack is pretty neat too. Looks good in our kitchen.

One year and one day after buying, the right side of the toaster made a small exploding noise and stopped working. The left side seemed fine. A couple of days later, the toaster has stopped working altogether. Neither handle stays lowered when you press it down and the toaster is as good as useless. We are disappointed to have had a safety issue of this kind. We found the machine pleasing aesthetically and functional. We are probably not covered by the guarantee either.

If you don't have space for a toaster oven, this is the one to have! Easy to use and select precise level of browning. Good coverage of browning and repeatability. I love the ability to raise my bagel or bread and check the level of browning without interrupting the cycle. And the warming rack on top is nice too - but "stuff" can drip, so be careful.I can't find something to complain about. And, I stole it at less than half retail. Gonna have this one a long time...

This is a good toaster, but far larger than I anticipated. For those of you who live in older homes like I do, counter space will be an issue, otherwise a good product.

Love this toaster! Expensive, but to me it's worth it. Instructions say when using the warming rack do NOT put anything on it that is already buttered, or filled, or frosted/glazed, etc. BUT, I laid a piece of parchment paper on the rack and warmed my raspberry/cream cheese Danish ~~ that worked beautifully! I had a gooey pastry that was fairly thick and I thought it probably wouldn't heat through (it was not something I could turn over), so I placed it on the parchment paper and placed a small bowl over it ~~ worked like a charm!
