More Complete directions for popping in a microwave please?

Hi, Edna. Our popcorn pods work well in the microwave with the right setup! Take your pods out of the wrapper and place it in a heatproof bowl (for example, glass) and cover with a lid or a plate (you'll want to vent a little by placing the plate slightly askew) or use one of the many available silicone or glass microwave popcorn poppers -- happy to recommend a few if it would be helpful? Microwave on high for about 4 minutes but stay very close by to listen to when the popping slows to 3-5 seconds between pops at which point you should hit stop, let cool and enjoy! Most silicone poppers can support 2 to 3 pods if you want to try mixing and matching flavors.

What is the shelf life on these? Can I freeze them?
Would like to have a few ready for camping trips.

Hi Chuck, we love this question because we love using them for camping! The official shelf life is a year. We recommend you store them in a cool, dry place. You could put them in the freezer if you want to have them last more than a year and they will still work well, they just may lose some of their pretty shine! One warning is that the melting point is about 97 degrees so a hot day may cause them to melt. They still work to pop, but they will lose their shape. Let us know how it goes!

Confused is a good product or bad product??

I bought the biggest kit via their website, which contained the most flavors. I have tried 4 flavors now, and have been extremely happy thus far, as has everyone in my 6 person family, aging from 4 to 51. The key is to understanding the wattage of your microwave and using the test packet they send to time out how long is best pertaining to your microwave. I have 1000 watts and I have found that the bags are perfectly popped at 3:15 minutes. I am still finding the sweet spot on the pods.

Each and every kernel isn't coated, so while you get plenty of flavor, it's not overbearing by any means. Thus far my absolute favorite is Birthday Cake. Cinnaliscious (sp?) tastes exactly like Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal, I can go on and on. My only hope is that the prices come down as this rises in popularity as I am addicted and have already placed another large order.

Also, the bowl is amazing and cleans much easier than other silicone dishes, especially oily spots.

How are these used for camping?  Over a fire?  Over a grill?
