One end goes into the displayport socket ont he back of the pc, the other end is vga and goes into the screen. does that help?

Your projector must accept 1080i signals. Compatibility is the question. What your STB sends needs to be accepted by the projector. Look at the manual if you have one, if not, see if it is on line.

I am fairly sure it will work ( I’ve never done it). The settings to separate the screens to say, extend your desk top will depend on if the PC and HDMI VGA cable communicates with the monitor. It should and if you have no other way of having a third monitor, it is worth the effort if it is not too expensive.
