This is a great adaptive shoe that isn’t really considered an adaptive shoe.It is easy for my 5 year old son to put on! He has muscle motor control problems because of a brain injury 3 years ago and has difficulty being completely independent with dressing / undressing.When he remembers he only needs to undo the top strap, he can put on these sandals independently.But like many kids who just want to rush and run out side to play, he undoes both the top and bottom straps. Then he has problems.He can still get them on but requires adult assistance.overall this has been the most successful shoe for us that :1)could replace flip flops for use at the beach / pool. (before his only option was athletic shoes at the beach)2) he can walk in without falling, and3) put on with the Most independence.Will definitely buy this again when he grows out of this pair.

These sandals were for my 6 year old son, who is VERY rough on all footwear. I had hoped to get at least one month of wear out of them for the summer, but they've lasted all season so far, and don't show signs of wearing out. The little lights on the side (which I hadn't realized were there when I ordered the sandal) were an added bonus and are still working as well. I'd definitely recommend this sandal to anyone, and I'm going to buy another pair in a larger size to put away for next summer as well.
