I was really hesitant at first whether or not to buy this because I wasn't sure if it was going to look stupid on my desk or if it was going to give me the light I wanted. My desk space has very bright natural light during the day but at night my lightbulb struggles to fill out the room so I wanted a lamp I could use that suspended above my desk that would make it easier for me when trying to write or do some crafty stuff that required a close eye.All in all I really like this lamp. I think it fits in quite well and It's incredibly useful. It's just high enough to not be in the way and the lamp is really flexible in where and how you can place it. It took me a little while to actually figure out how to adjust the lamp (I didn't read the instructions because I was lazy) but once you know how it's not too hard to adjust it. I personally don't plan on moving it around at all, it will just stay how it is so for me it's perfect but for someone that may want to move it around a lot it may be a little more tedious. You have to do a lot of loosening and tightening of bolts and what not to move it around.The cord that comes with it was literally just long enough for me to discretely vine around the back of my computer desk to the right of it and down to the power source. It's not that long, It only just got there for me so be careful with that.By far the best part of this lamp though in my opinion is the customisation you get with colour of the lamp. I won't lie, I was amazed, I've never seen that before. You can also change the brightness but that is a little more predictable with desk lamps. I'm not really a fan of the really warm yellow kind of light, I don't like it, it makes me feel a little bleh, but also I'm not exactly a big fan of the bright pure white light either so I keep mine roughly in the middle to what to me feels more like natural light. The fact I had a choice to do that is great.I'm so glad I bought this lamp, it's pretty pricey and looking back I kind of went of a shopping spree and didn't really notice just how much I paid for a lamp but I have to say I actually have no regrets with this it's great.

This is in many ways an excellent lamp, made from quality and robust materials, well packaged, attractively functional in design and broadly speaking, it works very well.I use mine for close-up work on electronic equipment which means it's usually on its brightest setting and towards the bluer-end of its colour spectrum.It is just large enough for the moderately large desk I work on, but would benefit from another 25cm reach to the arm, but it's still bigger than most.The same can be said for the light bar - another increment or two would give an even better light spread, but it's good as-is.I could also do with one further step up in brightness too, but here again, what there is is adequate for most normal purposes - I like a LOT of light when I'm working!.Its one major flaw - as highlighted in other reviews - is a lackof rotation along the long axis of the light bar; this is frankly stupid and needs to be addressed with a design modification. I can work around it fine, but it irks!Overall, at the ~£70 I paid it's moderately reasonable value for money - had I paid the supposed full price of £150 I would have felt a whole lot less enthusiastic.

Original review (2 stars)The lamp is flimsy and barely provides any light. I bought this to have decent lighting on a workbench in a badly lit corner of my lab. Given its price, I can not recommend this lamp. You can buy lamps for 1/5 of its price that are better.Edit: The customer care of Jebsens do care about their product and what people think of it. I was provided very quickly with a replacement of the lamp, with no need to return the first one. Very good service there!The new lamp indeed functions better, so I will update my review as follows: 4 stars.Pros:+ It is a stylish lamp.+ The colour modes are nice, useful for a desk / reading lamp.Cons:- The head of the lamp lacks one degree of freedom that would be very useful. You can pitch and yaw the lamp, but you cannot "roll" it around the lamp heads longest axis. I mounted the lamp on a bench and wanted to tilt it a bit, so it shines away from me into my 3D printer when needed. That's not possible.- It still is not a very bright lamp. I bought this lamp to be used on a workbench for some work where I need really good light (electronics, fine soldering etc.). I moved the lamp to my desk and added a 22W lamp to my workbench that performs better at less than half the price.- It is pricy.

This is a well built lamp with sturdy fittings and very sleek aluminum arms and a strong light emitting panel that is adjustable to intensity and color temperature. It is easy to adjust its positioning on the desk with the included and Allen key and its reach with the included fake coin. It would have been perfect for me and given it 5 stars, if:(a) it had butterfly type tightening screws on its joints instead of the ones requiring the coin, as on my case the adjusting side is further from my view and close to a wall, making it almost impossible to do blindly, and(b) the length of the lighting panel would be longer

Excellent lamp. The first one I ordered wouldn't work, but when I contacted Jebsens they sent a replacement immediately, without any messing around with returns etc. The second one was excellent - you can have the light colour and brightness just the way you want it. It's also sturdy, well made and just a great lamp. On the highest setting it's incredibly bright, and on the lowest as gentle as you can hope for! Highly recommended.

I bought this lamp to use in my workshop as a way to get a good light over my woodturning lathe.
