Harriman House Way of the Trader: A complete guide to the art of financial trading

New or old, there's something here for everyone. New traders will get a mental model on how to think about what you're doing. The not so new will find concise descriptions of what they do to help them keep things simple, and possibly learn a new idea or two at the same time. Trading isn't easy so having this clear concise little book to help keep your focus simple, even when the world isn't.

There are so many books with "nice" theories, but I can easily deduce that they are just theories. Not this book. The writer is a seasoned trader and places the emphasis where it really matters. Not on the techniques and theories but on the trader as a person. Some trading strategies are also demonstrated, but the best value of this book is its emphasis on trading psychology, mindfulness, record keeping. I would recommend it to any beginner to intermediate level trader, or as pleasant revision for an experienced trader.

I really enjoyed this book which would benefit the 90% of traders who - like me - break even at best in the markets.'break even' being trader-speak for 'losing money' of course.It covers all aspects of trading but is not an entry-level 'Trading for dummies' and is far better suited for those who have been burnt a bit.Murphy has an easy style. As I read it I alternated between thoughtful self-recognition and laughter. He has a genuine voice, challenging conventional wisdom and doesn't just recycle the millions of other trading self-help books. He clearly understands the difficulty of staying ahead in the markets and offers excellent actionable adviceBefore purchase I downloaded a free sample. I have bought lots of books but this one Its very well written, easy to follow and has a some humor which is nice.
