This system works as described and is easy to install
This system works as described and is easy to install. The back up lines are easy to adjust By changing the angle of the camera to match your requirements. The major problem is that the image in the display is poor during daylight conditions. There does not seem to be enough brightness. I have adjusted to brightness to maximum but still need to shade the display to see the image. I tried to contact technical support but was unable to get a reply. So, poor quality display image makes this unit difficult to recommend

This camera works great! Easy to install and works perfectly
This camera works great! Easy to install and works perfectly! My wife is so happy to have this in our new van as it didn't have one already. The mirror looks really nice too and doesn't appear to be an "add on". The picture display is crystal clear and works great at night too. Can't say enough good. A local shop wanted $900 to install a rear view mirror back up camera....wow....$136 and 1 hour of install time, we are all set for a fraction of that cost!

Make sure the camera fits your car. Both the rear-view mirror and bumper.
Bought this back-up camera to install on my sons car (2012 Buick Regal). I'm semi-handy, usually handy enough to get in trouble. I jumped in and was able to install it without too many issues. The sellers web-site is of no real help, I couldn't even find the model number of the camera I bought. The directions that come with the camera are a little help but the real help came by looking at as many You-Tube videos to get myself familiar with backup cameras both wired and wireless. Main issues: There was no one video that showed my exact camera being installed, so I kept watching videos to familiarize myself with what I needed to do. Installing and running the wire for the mirror was pretty easy and straight forward the only issue I had was the OEM mirror is a little bulky and I had a hard time getting the new mirror to attach to it, It doesn't fit perfect but good enough. I was able to hide the wire and get it to the cigarette outlet. Easy part- Done! The next part was the more difficult part. I needed to attach the camera and bracket to the back license plate and run the wire and small transmitter through the rear bumper and then attach the wires to the back-up lights of the car. This was the part I was a little nervous about. I drilled a hole thru the back bumper ran the wires and the transmitter thru the bumper and snaked the wires thru the back of the car and behind the "trunk wall" and up into the rear light housing outside the trunk. This required taking off the rear light housing and finding which wires were the break light wires. it was easy to determine which wires went to the clear break light but I needed to find out which wire was the hot and which was the ground. I purchased a tester from the auto parts store (you-tube video helps with this) and connected the wires together and re-assembled the taillight. Hard part done. Next came final attachment of the bracket and camera. this was pretty easy except the bumper of a 2012 Buick makes it hard to attach the camera without the camera blocking a bit too much of the license plate. Not perfect, but the camera works, and will hopefully help a new driver while backing up.

Can't see in sunlight.
The mirror fades out in the sunlight and there's no way to change it and customer services was not helpful.

This system worked well for my wife's minivan
Installation took a while because I went for a permanently wired solution over the cigarette power adapter solution. But it looks great now that it's finished. My wife has a 2006 Toyota Minivan and it's hard to see behind when backing up at night in poor lighting. This product solves that problem.Fortunately for me this minivan has an overhead console with power for map lights and trip computer directly above the rear view mirror. So I ran the power cord from the mirror straight up under the top liner and tapped into the map light wiring. Much easier than trying to route the wire around the windshield and then under the dash to a different power source. So the lesson learned is use your multi-meter to find the closest 12V source and confirm polarity. For the camera in the rear I really wanted to use the larger bolt-on bracket instead of the smaller glue-on bracket for a more secure installation. Both brackets are included with the product. I couldn't mount this bracket at the top of the license plate though because the camera would interfere with reaching the rear tailgate latch. On my minivan the tailgate latch is only inches above the top of the license plate. So I had to mount the bracket on the bottom of the license plate. My minivan doesn't have body holes with threaded nuts for the bottom of the license plate so I bought a cheap plastic license plate holder and inserted the camera bracket between the holder and the license plate. Once screwed together the camera is now securely affixed to the license plate holder and plate. Then I simply screwed in the top screws to affix the whole thing to the back of the minivan. Note: I did cut a notch running up from the camera in plate holder to route the cable. I drilled a 1/2" hole behind the license plate to run the power cable inside the tailgate door. Once the license plate assembly is mounted you don't see the cable or the hole. The license plate holder provides a nice 1/4" offset that allows the cable to easily run behind. Fortunately for me, my minivan has the reverse lights in the tailgate and not in the rear quarter panels so I only needed a couple of feet of cable between the camera and the reverse light. The included cable splice clamps made tapping into power at the front and rear of the vehicle a breeze. I had to strip away some of the protective heat shrink tubing holding the wire bundles to give me enough room to tap in but that is trivial. My wife is very happy with this product. The supplied mirror/display is slightly larger than the OEM mirror but not grossly oversize that it blocks your view out the front windshield.

directions for installation were poorly written & inadequate - it does work very well, but the mirror monitor is very hard to see during the daytime due to the light and reflections
