I used these for years without any real problems, great value for the cost. I had precisely one issue with them and that was a slight high pitch tone when plugged in. It was really quiet, the sort of thing that only annoys you over very long term because of how constant it is. Older people might not even be able to notice it, as my mother couldn't hear it whatsoever.Fiddling with the speaker wire would make it quieter or louder but never quite could get rid of it. I ultimately replaced these because of it with my new PC build, but if you want cheap speakers they're very good for the asking price. If you have any background noise you probably wouldn't notice the tone anyway as well.

I wasn't expecting much at this price. I wanted some small speakers that would not take up much room on my computer desk. They slot nicely under the monitor shelf. Being USB powered is a bonus as I already have far to many multi power adapters in use and haven't really got a spare plug socket free.The wire from speaker to speaker isn't 46" long but approximately 46cm. They must have got inches and cm muddled up. The cable is long enough to sit each speaker at the side of a small monitor or underneath. I've used a USB port at the front of my PC so the volume control is reachable. I think if I'd have used a USB port at the back the volume control would not have been reachable due to the short cable (as the wire from speaker to USB is more like 48cm). I like having a physical volume control available but of course there is a digital one if you'd rather use a USB port at the back of your PC.The sound is surprisingly full, with quite a deep sound for a little speaker. For the money they are amazingly good. I'm not sure about reliability but I figure if I don't move the speakers around or play them at full blast, I don't see why they won't last.I'm pleased that I now have more sound options with my PC now connected to headphones, stereo satellite speakers and a surround sound system, and they are definitely good value for money, despite the shortness of the cables.

This pair of compact desktop speakers connects to your PC/notebook via a conventional 3.5mm audio cable and may be powered direct from your computer via a USB cable; alternately they will charge from a mains socket via a mains/USB adapter.The sound quality is very good; clear and bright with no distortion or crackle and a good deep bass range due to a pair of large, enhanced bass speakers in the sides of the cabinets to complement the treble speakers in the front. There is no on/off switch and the volume is adjusted with a high-viz bright orange roller control at the back of one of the speakers.So overall, great sound.However, one minor gripe. The specification on the amazon page claims the cable length to be 47in. This is not true: neither the cable connecting the speakers to the computer nor the one connecting the speakers together is anywhere near 47in. The cable connecting the speakers together is less than half the advertised length: it measures 22in and worse, is fixed into the back of each speaker so cannot be easily replaced with a longer one. For this reason these speakers get 4 stars instead of 5.If you don’t mind this short-cable feature, these speakers are otherwise excellent and definitely way above the budget level in sound quality, while still offering excellent value.

I bought the 712-Black, and it is a very good little speaker. Sound quality is surprisingly good with clear bass and treble. The remote volume control is handy for adjustments without changing anything on your device which helps with the distortion you often get when you have your device volume too high.I bought this to use on a tablet, and as with all tablets it doesn't have a B type USB port which would have been awkward as the speaker requires external power. This was easily solved by carefully pulling the audio and USB cable apart (it splits easily) then using a standard 5v 1Amp phone charger to power the speaker then plugging into the tablet. If you have a dual USB port charger(as I do) then this makes powering both the tablet or phone and the speaker a doddle. It also means that it can be used with an iPod or other mp3 player using the same technique.The LED lights are pretty, they are not fixed or able to be changed but they cycle through colours making some pretty effects in a darkened room.Overall, very happy with this device. I cannot comment on reliability or longevity though as I've only had this for day :)

I was under the impression that these were a bit smaller than what I actually received, however that's not a bad thing- just be careful with the space next to/under/to the side of- your monitor. Best suited for desktops.Sound quality they are quite bass heavy and I opted to point them upwards to help this, but sometimes you will get a light hissing sound which is due to the wires moving. The wires include a power cable (USB) and audio jack output with a built in volume control (though you can still control it via your PC).These are OK, I tend to use headphones a lot and so these are for the times when I'd rather not wear them. They are solidly built but the cables bring it down a bit.

Cracking little speakers. These speakers fitted perfectly under my monitor and have a sturdy base. They are powered from my PC and don't make any noises they aren't supposed to! Also they fit with the aesthetic of my computer which was a bonus!My only gripe is the inline volume control is bit cheap and nasty, but overall the sound quality is far better than I expected for such a budget unit.

THIS IS SECOND SET , I HAVE HAD, THE FIRST ONE'S DID NOT WORK, SENT THEM BACK GOT A REFUND, WITH OUT ANY PROBLEM,....THAT IS WHY I THOUGHT GIVE ANOTHER GO, WOW THE SOUND IS FANTASTIC, I COULD NOT ASK ANY MORE FROM THESE SPEAKERS, SO GLAD I DID, NOT THE SELLERS FAULT JUST ONE OF THEM THINGS,......BUT I AM VERY VERY HAPPY WITH THESE SPEAKERS,......BRILLIANT,.............
