Thermos Labels on ConnaBride Freeze Boards
I buy Thermos because it's a brand I trust. When I buy from Amazon it is because I trust that I will receive what I ordered. It's that simple. When I received ConnaBride Freeze Boards not Thermos ones, I felt very let down. I also felt uneasy that they have Thermos Labels on them. I checked online to see if there was any connection between the two companies and I could find none. Maybe you know of one in which case I hope you make a comment here. Whatever, what you see on the product page is not what you will get. Now, they may be as good as each other but that's not the point; I don't know what the liquid is that ConnaBride puts in them (I can't find this information on ConnaBride's website) as the 'non-toxic' specification we are given is for the Thermos ones.Further, from the Thermos website (and another reviewer here) I knew the 800g Thermos ones would be 32.5x24x1.5cm. However, the ConnaBride ones that I received are 32.5x25x1cm. That extra centimetre on the width means I cannot lay them flat in my freezer drawers. I have no idea whether this matters to the freezing process (being on a slope as the liquid turns solid and expands).I have informed Amazon but I see they have not changed the product page. So, although they've been in my freezer for only about an hour so far and I can't comment on performance yet, I thought you'd want to know straightaway in case size and/or liquid and/or brand matters to you too.UPDATE 18 AUG 2013As someone this morning found this review unhelpful, I've uploaded some photos (available from the top of the product page) which you may wish to view and which they may find of more use.UPDATE 20 AUG 2013I am now in a position to tell you how they performed. After five hours in my Thermos cool bag with 3 Thermos ice blocks protecting frozen food, they had half defrosted (presumably because they are very thin) whereas the ice blocks were still solid.I've taken this opportunity to upload an additional photo showing one of these freeze boards NOT able to lay flat in one of MY freezer drawers so cannot be stored under the food in MY freezer.

Excellent block
When I go out and take a family packed lunch, I have always used the standard ice blocks in the base, and then put the food on top. To save on weight, I have used 2 blocks at a time, this left some items colder than others. I saw this and thought would give it a go. The block fits nicely inside my 2 cooler bags and virtually covers the entire base. As it is thinner, it does not need as long in the freezer to ice up. After it has frozen, I always wrap it in a carrier bag to stop condensation getting in the bag and on the food. I either wrap the food in foil or just recently to save squashing, put them in re-used take-away curry dishes. At the weekend was the big test. In the back of the car on a warm day, the contents stayed cold, even the cans of pop and yoghurt for the fruit. After a long day out, the board was still cold when getting home, although now almost a liquid inside. The cold stayed for a while after. Put back in the freezer until next time, as it is flat it easily goes in and food on top. A great idea and well worth the money.

... freeze and then chill a fold-over chillow-style pad to cool my burning feet at night
I have bought this to freeze and then chill a fold-over chillow-style pad to cool my burning feet at night, having realised that the chillow pad was not a very nice thing to find in the fridge amongst the cheese and veg...So last thing at night I take the freeze-board up to bed, leave it enfolded in the chillow while I carry out my ablutions, and then the chillow is blissfully cold and stays that way for long enough to help me fall asleep with more comfortable feet. Before I discovered this extra use for the freeze board, I used my previous one (which finally developed a crack in one corner when it had inadvertently but repeatedly been kicked out of the bed) as a picnic food chiller and in-car journey- bag chiller, where it fitted snugly down the side of a supermarket jute bag to keep everything fresh and chocolate unmelted. It lasted three hour journeys easily, still cold at the end.

Convenient and does the job
I got two of these to go with a new cool box and found them to be excellent. They fit neatly down the sides of the box and after a 7 - 8 hour car journey three small bottles of water were still frozen and some chocolate that I'd put in the cool box because it was melting had chilled as well as if it had been in my fridge at home. They are easy to handle and fit well in my drawer freezer - they just slid across the top of a fairly full drawer. I was so confident in their chilling ability I brought frozen foodstuff back home and they transported well - no thawing at all.I don't know how long they will stay frozen in the box as I took them out at the end of my journey so they didn't make my box wet. I find the small blocks unwieldy and hard to fit evenly in the cool box, these though were great and although they are a little more expensive the convenience makes it worthwhile.

Cool!
I bought two of these as we have to transport shopping home over a long distance-most of my old blocks were bashed and needing replacing and the write-up on these appealed to me. A good purchase as they stay cold for a long, long time, take up little freezer space as they slip down the side easily or lay flat on a shelf, I sandwich the food between these boards in my big cool-bag - one top and one bottom and that works, I slip one in a supermarket cool-bag and that works well to take the milk and dairy products home. I've used them on a worksurface to set food on to keep it cool as I work. Great under a tray of dips as it keeps them cool and fresh. I was making fancy individual mousse for dessert so I used the boards to help set the mixture quickly. I'm thinking of buying another two to use as I do some catering for a volunteer group I'm involved with. A happy customer again.
