Speedy, long lasting space saving machine, 4+ years
Long lasting space saving machine! Works like a charm and I do descale it properly and I use distilled water. I love it because It occupies very little space and I have a grinder too from Delonghi so my coffee is freshly brewed everyday! I got one of the bottomless porta filter coffee handle and basket. The cream, aroma and taste are better than a coffee shop. I was on a budget when I bought this and it saved me a lot of money as I stop buying coffees outside and also I paid a reasonable amount for a coffee machine that has its own tank rather than needing pressure and other connections. I make a lot of coffees everyday and I’m very pleased with it! It is a bit loud but its fast so that is no bother to me. When I hear the sound and smell of fresh coffee, I know my day begins the right way thanks to Dedica Delonghi and I didn’t even try to create a headline 😂 They better give me royalties for this! Now seriously if you want a no fuss, good quality at a reasonable price coffee machine that lasts in time, then get this one. I had several coffee machines before this but stopped searching with this one. My family has sage and other more expensive coffees but I prefer mine and now I could afford a more expensive one but I’ll stick to this one as this is how pleased I am with it. Is the speed of it that I love!

Good espressos and milk frothing.
I have had the Dedica Style for a week now and I am very impressed. I have been using it to make espressos, cortados, cappuccinos and americanos. All have been excellent. I would say that the instructions which come with the machine are pretty poor, you can probably get better instructions where the machine is listed on the Amazon website. I would also recommend looking at videos on youtube that describe the milk frothing process - it will definitely help you use this machine to greater effect. After watching some my technique definitely improved. My only problem is that I haven't been sleeping that well because I have been drinking so many cortados! - my go to when it comes to coffee. I would also recommend getting a couple of barista jugs in different sizes so that you can do single or two cups, this also saves on the milk. The machine looks well on the kitchen worktop and I have not had any issues with things breaking. Filling with water is very easy and cleaning after use is quite simple and only takes a few seconds. The first time I used it the frother did come off in my hand, but that was because I used a twisting motion when wiping it down and that is how you remove it to clean it properly! It took me a short while getting it back on because I hadn't taken note of its orientation before it came off. I would recommend you practice removing it first so that you see how it sits and how it comes off before it does so without you knowing what happened. Noise level is not obtrusive. Anyway, if you are using the frother correctly there should be a high pitched noise from it at the start of the process - again check out videos on youtube. Water capacity is good - I only need to refill after a couple of days, although, as I have said previously, I mostly make cortados so I am only making 'one shot' each time. If you want to use full size mugs/cups with it you will have to remove the drip tray, but it comes off easily. I was a bit concerned when I ordered the machine due to a few poor reviews but, going by my own experience, I would have no hesitation in recommending it.

Nice and compact makes a decent drink
Simple little machine very compact and pleasing to the eye and for the price it’s brilliant . Makes a decent tasting drink but you do need to use decent coffee to start with . Not too noisy can be used when others are in bed and won’t disturb them . We like a small mug of espresso instead of a shot so we press the 2 mug button and then use the milk frother to dispense hot water to make a decent size drink works well

Easy to use and makes lovely coffee
I love this coffee machine, it is so easy to use and heats up quickly. It makes lovely coffee and the steam wand is impressive, there are two options to choose from - hot milk or cappuccino milk. I have tried several coffee machines now, this one definitely has the best steam wand and the wand is easier to keep clean as the hot milk doesn’t seem to stick to it so much. This machine also seems happy to make two or three consecutive coffees without any issues, this was a problem with our last machine. The slim design of this machine means it doesn’t take up much space, it also looks stylish. I would definitely recommend this Delonghi coffeee machine, for ease of use and coffee quality, and also value for money.

Exceptional trash. Unreliable faulty machines, technical support with no technical comprehension
Bought 3 times, and 3 times broke within a short period of time. Exceptional trash. The machine seems to come with multiple faults. - The “manual” included in the box was totally incomprehensible diagrams – without any words - which were open to interpretation, and utterly useless. - Accessories shown in the “manual” were missing from the box!! - So you had to look up on the internet for the proper manual for this model: EC685, EC695, EC785 coffee maker manual. Page 6 of this manual, Section 3 “Setting up the appliance”, point 7 says: “Turn the steam dial (A11) to position (fig. 5) and dispense hot water: the appliance automatically stops dispensing and the lights (1 cup) and (2 cups) flash.. Turn the knob back to position O. The purpose of this procedure is to purge any water from the circuit before using steam to prepare the beverage.”…. However, the appliance does NOT automatically stop dispensing at all, emptying the tank completely. The lights (1 cup) and (2 cups) do not flash either. I called Delonghi technical support, and the first guy is very kind, but has no idea even where to find the manual on the Delonghi website. I had to help him to find it. Needless to say, he has never read it and has no idea why the water does not stop dispensing. The second technical support person had no idea either, and simply said: it’s defective and return it to amazon. Another problem with this machine was that it was extremely hard/nearly impossible to turn the coffee holder into its position – it required unnatural force. Seems to be a very common issue with this model. Therefore, I bought a replacement machine, hoping the second one would work as described. The new one does not automatically stop dispensing water either.. But I decide to turn a blind eye to this particular problem… Soon, I also found that the coffee machine does not give coffee! When lucky, it gave little drip drip, then stopped... Other times, nothing at all. Then 3 lights flashed simultaneously. Had to remove the coffee holder, then replace it. Still no coffee. I did all the troubleshooting. The machine was descaled. Made sure the coffee did not go over the line. Changed the way I used the tamper. Used a pin to prick the hole at the bottom of the coffee holder, etc. None of the above made any difference. This machine was defective and did not give any coffee, whatever I did. Other reviewers said that the pressure is insufficient for coffee to come out. Maybe. I have read horror stories of customers sending back the new coffee machine to Delonghi for “repair”...so I do not want to go that route and waste my precious time further… Delonghi does not seem to care a jot, as this model is selling so well...

Do some research at first and enjoy your coffee :)
Ok, so, I really have to say something about this machine as this is my 3rd DeLonghi of such type. First of all, what I do want people to know that this machine makes a really good coffee, with putting some research and knowledge of how to use it. If you don't have time/desire/opportunity whatsoever I STRONGLY recommend just to buy any bean-to-cup with no fuss - just press the button. First of all, I am fascinated with its demensions - you will barely notice its presence even on small counter top. It's heating really fast for such small device. I do recommend to use freshly medium-to-fine (but not too fine as the machine will be "choking" in the process) ground coffee, to buy a decent tamper and a stainless steel milk frother cup. Then, DO NOT add more coffee than its meant to baskets (14 g for double portion and 7 g for one portion) as it had been written by other reviews - you will need to put too much strength to close the holder or even worse - you wouldn't be able to do it at all, but with the right measurment (which later you will be able to see intuitively) it will close with NO effort. Milk steamer works fine, too, with skimmed/semi-skimmed (haven't tried whole, though) or soya milk, you will need no more than 40-45 "ticks" to heat milk properly and to make lovely cappucino. Yes this may seem like a lot of fuss for quick coffee-lovers however when everything is done automatically it's actually not. And the price especially on promotions is very good for such lovely device. I do have to mention that I have a separate coffee-filter machine for my big morning cup and this one is for occasional espresso/cappucino and I am satisfied by its taste and quality (good beans make difference as well).

Amazing coffee machine
Been using this for a few weeks. I was looking initially for an expensive coffee machine like the Ninja one but couldn’t justify the price as all I wanted is to froth my milk for drinks and make a latte. Initially arrived with a part missing which was so frustrating but Amazon was fantastic as always 10/10, replaced it within a day and I got a new one. Easy to wash, lovely tasting coffee and such a difference taste wise to those diluting coffees! With the frother it takes some practice but I’ll get there also need to make sure you warm up the milk for long enough as had a few ones I made and it was luke warm and after some practice made it hot. The only thing is maybe buy a separate coffee tamper as the one you get is plastic and not the best. I wish I got a colour coffee machine one but it was more expensive , overall so impressed with the quality and price!! So if you’re looking for a good basic coffee machine for one person this is fab. I’m really happy and worth the purchase. Thanks so much 10/10.

God looks aren't everything
Don't be deceived by the Dedicas hot looks, you will be lucky to get a warm coffee out of it. This is the 3rd DeLonghi I've had in about 20 years, they're pretty solid, make a decent coffee for their price range and seem to last. I decided to spend a little extra after my Motivo went Kaput! so went for this stylish little number, based not on looks but the various options it has. Its had more effort put into the electrics, programming and options - all good. However it falls at the first and most important hurdle, temperature. This machine will not make hot espresso, by that I mean in the 90 degree range, in fact it won't get anywhere near it. This is not a traditional boiler machine, it uses thermoblock technology, the system is behind the grouphead (not on top of it) and I noticed that despite working with it an entire afternoon the machine at no point got above slightly warm to the touch. I tried with all my favourite coffees to get something to happen with this in stock mode (pressurized baskets) and all it did was make them all taste the same, bland, bodyless, zero aftertaste. Bottom line is this, if you can't get a machine to produce water in the 90s degrees C then you will never get the full taste of your coffee, you will never discover what your coffee has locked within it. The espresso is the base of all the drinks you will make and if it can't even get it in the ball park then, whats the point? It has great options, hard/soft water setting, custom options for self shut down, programmable run rates, its great in that respect and I could see those things coming in really handy but as I say pretty pointless if you can't get the core purpose right. Sadly I had to send it back for that reason. I didn't run a PID on it but used a thermometer as a basic test and the best I got out of it was an espresso at 84 degrees, the worst 78.(digital thermometer then went kaput) you can taste it anyway. Maybe I had a 'wrong 'un' but I doubt it. This has happened a few times recently when trying new machines, luke warm coffee, don't know why, maybe they've been sued too many times in the past and decided to keep the temperatures down!? It also has that really ridiculous 'safety' feature when trying to make multiple coffees, where it makes you manually let steam off by running water through the steam wand before it will allow you to make another espresso, often leaves you waiting for a couple of minutes before you can use the espresso function again. Not good news if after your wonderful dinner party you're going to knock off 6 coffees. What should be a ten minute job will take you 20 minimum. This machine seems determined to never allow you to have HOT water.. Anyway, I'll be sticking with traditional water boilers and steel machines where possible from now on. Its worth doing research on youtube, I retrospectively looked at a few reviews of the Dedica and some even do temperature checks and the profile on this machine is very low temps that creep upwards and for the last few seconds peaks in the mid to late 80s only, which mirrors my experience. If you're just going to knock out capsule coffees this is probably fine and it will look great in your dead tech brand new £30K kitchen (of course you can get capsule machines a lot cheaper) If you want to make great coffee or get into making great coffee this will not be what you're looking for - and of course if you can afford a £30K kitchen why skimp on the espresso machine - get a Gaggia. No quibbles return from Amazon so thankful for that. I wanted to like this machine, really did but it doesn't make good espresso ergo it doesn't make good drinks.
