10 x G45 Golf Ball 40 Watt SES/E14 Small Edison Screw in Opal (White/Soft) Finish Double Life: 2,000 Hours by EVERBRIGHTPLUS [Energy Class E]

I have a number of lights in the house which depend on these golf ball Small Edison Screw (SES) 40 Watt bulbs. In the past, these bulbs have tended to fuse or blow quite frequently, so I was looking for some that had a longer life.These bulbs from 'EVER BRIGHT' arrived impeccably well packaged, and each wad separately packed. They were ready to be used immediately.The light emitted is a soft white light that helps brighten up my ceiling lights in the lounge and dining room. I have the lights connected to a dimmer switch, so can adjust the brightness to suit the mood. Thankfully, I haven't experienced any of the worrying flickering associated with a lot of these bulbs.The lights also don't become excessively hot like competitors offerings, so I don't have to worry unduly about some of the light shades colours fading or deteriorating over time when the lights are on over a continual period.I am very satisfied with these bulbs and they represent superb value at £ 6.18 for 10. Absolute superb deal here and so pleased to see somebody having the right idea in still selling these light bulbs. I can honestly say the government screwed up this country with their not so bright ideas to come out with energy saving light bulbs that give no more light than that of a matchstick. It's a complete joke as to how they so called ideas have put so many company's out of business over their pathetic actions.About 5 years ago I replaced my light fittings in my living room, and got ones that take 5 bulbs on each fitting 1 on each end of the room meaning it takes 10 bulbs to fill them both. Perhaps a bit of an expensive option one might feel, but not so much at the time.Since then the world as gone totally stark raving mad by coming out with the so called energy saving light bulb. based on their false claims of so called saving the earth policy, just like their so called waffle about so called climate change. Well they have to have something to speak about don't they, and as ever pure utter garbage.The country goes through one its worst ever recessions and puts countless amount of factories making light fittings which are no longer needed, cause of their stupid antics.I got these light fittings from Wilko's and up until recently they have stopped selling the bulbs for them. I asked them to get some in for me, but was told they are no longer making them, and if you look in their shops you will also notice they do not have any light fittings hanging in them either. All because of these so called stupid in efficient new low energy saving light bulbs, which quite frankly look a dreadful site.I was about to take my light fittings down and throw them in the bin, till I noticed the bulbs here on Amazon, and thank god someone as got common sense in this world is all I can say. I ordered a pack of 10 and for the price of a fiver was less than half the price I was paying for them at Wilko's. Not only that these come with a brand name Ever Ready and are very good bulbs. Wilko's was their own and lasted around 2 weeks and popped. Was well pleased with the speedy delivery and how they wrapped too.I did try everywhere to get these bulbs in my own town of Birmingham, and the only one you could get with this screw size fitting were the new useless light energy saving ones and sold in Asda and was only 19 Watts and they wanted £3.75 each. It would of cost me a fortune for so little light and I was not going to go down that road at all.I am that pleased with these I am going to be stocking them up for the years to come, and as for the so called energy saving light bulb they can shove it, and they can shove the useless idiots in power to. This company here have got more sense than what they have in their little finger, and shed far better light on this world.

GOOD PRICE, OK BULBS, I NEED 6 AT A TIME, AND SOMETIMES THE ODD ONE BLOWS VERY QUICKLY, BUT MOST OF THE TIME THEY LAST 4 A WHILE, THE FIRST ONE I PUT IN WENT WITHIN A DAY !

These bulbs are perfect for my cooker hood and at 10 in a pack, they will last for ever. Fantastic value. I thought they had only sent 9 bulbs originally as when I put one in the hood, I could only find 8 bulbs to put away. After a puzzling search, I found the Jack Russell sat on the settee with it in his mouth. He looked like one of those ornamental light novelties. I have no idea how he got it but I only retrieved it by offering him one of his dads socks as a swap. He weren't pleased as he only has 2 pairs and one of those has only one sock which he located in the hedge at the bottom of the garden. The other one has never been seen again. I have now stored the bulbs away from the Russell. I expect these bulbs to last me now, and will never have to buy any more. Or until the Russell finds them. Buy with confidence if you don't have Jack Russells in the house.

I bought a packet of 10 bulbs in May 2016 when purchasing a pair of lamps as these were a recommended addition to the order. The lamps are very occasionally used, so imagine my surprise when a bulb failed in one lamp, followed the following day by the bulb in the other lamp, after only 3 weeks (I estimate approx 20 hours usage). One bulb had come apart and required a pair of tweezers to remove the screw fitting. After about another 30 hours or so, yet another bulb had failed, again parting company with the screw fitting. If one was relying on these bulbs for regular, daily use, I would estimate that I'd be replacing them weekly.

As in the header, bulbs are bulbs, but these are opaque, which are almost impossible to find in retail shops, so are an excellent purchase and at a price that cannot be beat.With the modern halogen bulbs I would have got one for the price I paid for 10 of these and as those nasty low consumption bulbs create a flickering effect (everything looks like it is an old black and white Charlie Chaplin film) with my vision problems then these are perfect. I only use this type of bulb in a couple of lights so these 10 should last me years.
